My goodness! Both of yours are looking so amazing! Wow! I can already tell this is going to be a good week of challenge pieces lol. Siikikala, I absolutely love the colors and mood in yours. And Don't, I love the content in yours, it's going to be awesome! I'm a sucker though for giant collosal creatures XD

Since he does not understand English, it is the Excite translation request.
Finally 12 colors was used.

Since the carried web site did not go well, it reraised to the server of its company.

I know it's misty because I pixeled it, but does it read as misty to anyone else?

May put a tree or animal in the fore ground for a bit of interest.

@felchqueen, I think it may not read as misty as it is because the greens are slightly to yellow and the white too bright... more I look at it its an overall color issue.

Dirty bits here and there ;)

WIP.

I have yet to add the fog and I wanna add some SotC-esque monster in the background.

Pretty entries so far.

Muffin, lineart defines and in a misty/foggy scene definition is not desired, imo.

@omrii

I don't like how the neck looks like teeth... maybe have a fur neck? or just a band separating the neck from the rest.

It's just the head man, I didn't add a neck yet (tbh I don't know if I'm gonna give him one at all!)

@Jal - Thanks, tried using your advice, had to resort to dither too :(

Should the stag be bigger? really don't like the dither in the transition from mist to grass may try to find an intermediate colour

I persoanlly like him as he is now. If I'd chanbge anything then it would be the color of the grass and maybe the sky. The feel a bit out of place to me

@Omrii - hmmm, I thought the sky was OK, but the pale blue background of the forum makes it look a bit brighter than I would want it.

The grass is still WIP and proving to be a bit of a pain, thanks for the advice.

Need to work a bit on the fur, the colors on the mask and start making the actual clouds of the fog, the first cloud I've made is a very very very early WIP.

Thoughts?

Everyone's art is so clean!
I think I'm going to go abstract.

I'm going to try to use 6 colors on this one since. Well fog desaturates. This is a WIP prototype using pyxeledit.
The story behind it is light gradually illuminates the darkness giving way to a figure masked in the fog.

Had to join this challenge.
Going to make the phantom train from Final Fantasy VI. (kind of lame I do so much Final Fantasy crap.. but it seemed just right for this particular challenge).

Just doodled and i wonder how to create a correct fog pattern for the background...
The file has already exactly 18 colours so i cant create de fog pattern effect on the frontside due i used layers with transparency..
any suggestion ?
i would also try some animation but im lost anyways
Thanks !

This may just be a WIP but just in case you should know that at this stage this would not be considered pixelart, k.

Using trans layers is not a good thing, especially on a challenge dealing with fog. Generally speaking you should be pixelling and not depending on CGd FX of any kind to create pixelart. There is nothing in your pixel that could not be manually made. I would likely not add this to the gallery for the trans layers because its mostly unfair to others.

Yeah, That's not even close to pixel art. 200x200 may be too beast for animating, at least for me. It's what I originally pictured in reading the challenge rules and I wanted to prototype something on the fly.

I have since scrapped that prototype and am seeing if I can make a foggy tile set for the challenge as well as for my game.

Wasn't able to work on this for the week, but i might be able to complete it during this weekend. I lifted it up a bit so the backgournd wouldn't take as much attention and to focus more on the foreground and middleground. Some colour changes aswell, still playing with them, now uses full 18 colors when it used to be 15.

my first pixel art i ever made.  Im normally more into user interface themes for computer, such as windows and linux themes.

I'm glad I scrapped my prototype. Unfortunately I most likely will not have the time to produce a piece of pixel art I think can contend with others. That's okay. Seeing some of the other works are inspirational.

Alas, the work I do have, I find novel in it's own sense.
It uses 6 different colors.
It uses 30 unique 10 x 10 tiles on a 200 x 200 canvas.

... 5001 colors, Idk if this is a WIP or anything but you shouldn't use Auto tool for anything refer to the challenge 'round here.
