First off, http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php/85322-1170-Classic-Sci-Fi-BRAIN-IN-CLEAR-CONTAINER-HAS-MECHANICAL-ARMS-AND-ELECTRIC-EYES - I found this thread with great illustrations. Share and enjoy.

I just sketched this.

(wow, bigger than i expected it to show up)

It's not going to be this big in the final piece (probably going to use up the entire 128x128), but I wanted to get the juices flowing, coming up with an idea.

... I just threw some quick sketches right now for this one... I wonder... is there a limit of entries per person?

Yo, I know but I feel that that one is perfect as it is, and this weird question entered my head, "what would happen if you placed a wizard's brain within a mecha?"
I feel like I can pretty much build something original from that... now the detail of the 11 colors limit... that will be a headache
edit:
This is what was built in order to investigate that question, a Mechard, a super robot powered by the brain of a dark Magus

I thought about doing Brain on the way to work. Now that I've started on this I can't get "haters gonna hate" out of my head...

I think I'll call this "Power Tie".

"Cortex Command"

The brain stem reads like a crack in the glass at first glance. At least, it did to me.

re: cortex command,
I adore basically anything Arne does. There's a weight and meatiness to his sketches that's like sex for my eyes.

Made a quick thing, basically decided I wanted the brain in the center and doodled on from there. Im having some issues with the shading of the body, the shape is a little odd and I'll probably need to scrap the current palette.

Updated it a bit

Those are some crazy cool sketches. Noice job. I also admire your coloring of the metal to make it look weathered.

Here's my brain robot.

He looks kinda like The Iron Giant, now that I look at it some more.

@cybershinobi

There isn't very much control in the pixelling try to not be so noisy.

It's meant to be a brain with arms/legs at a desk/chair in a room, with electrodes hooked up to it, powering the robot. WIP

EDIT: Palette is DB16. Too many colors atm, probably going to zap the green and red.

EDIT:

It's 11 without transparency, so I guess the background is staying. I could reduce to 10+transparency, but I'm not sure it's worth it.

Why hasn't anyone made a robot that eats human brains? You know, powered by the brain in the sense that it gets its energy from the brain...

A bit late for first WIP; but I don't quite like the hands and am not sure what to do with them...and might like to try motion blur on the fan or a sparking effect in the brain before submitting.

Time Taken: 4 hours.

9 colors. [3 pinks; 5 teal/grays and transparency] Color scheme ripped from an interior design book from the 1920's. Robot design based on 1920's/1930's sci-fi.

Update:

Fixed Hands and Arms:

Alternate Brain Coloration: (not sure which I prefer)

Update 2:

Animated it. Going to nap soon.

Ever since Theoden mentioned that game Cortex Command, I've become addicted to it, and forgotten about this place.
