Here, have a flat-color WIP thing:

I want to go for a multiple-color wooded toy-like goat... that functions as a piggy bank. (note that I haven't added the hole yet)
Was inspired by this wooden toy of mine (cannot link it for some reason and it's too big to put in the [img] tag): http://i.imgur.com/sq2RxVA.jpg

Would http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gävle_goat - straw qualify?

Seeing as straw is made from plants such as wheat rather than trees and the challenge is asking for a wooden goat/sheep/ram... I highly doubt it qualifies IMO. Correct me if I am wrong.
My second WIP:

Chose my light source, blocked out the basic shading and added that piggy bank hole. I must say I'm kind of proud of it :3
I'm going for polished/"shiny" wood, like the wooden toy I have.

Could it be a carving such as this?

Yeah, I think that's fine. Straw is probably not fine...I'm pretty sure straw isn't made of wood.

If you don't want  to do the challenge, then fair enough, but if you don't want to because your egg templates don't fit, then don't use the eggs.

Some rough WIP.
And also question - could it be goat head with human body or it should be completely animal thing?

Updated a little. Now it looks like a lion. Are you sure lions are not related to the ovens?

Of course they are, they're both mammals!
But still this challenge is about ovens and goats so I had to deal with it.

Holy cow, that looks amazing :O I dunno how are you going to make the animal look wooden though... Right now it simply looks like a completely brown goat, but it could be just me.
Newest WIP:

Added some new shades, and now there are 5 shades per color not including outlines and the white in the eye. The 26 is simply the count of colors including transparency (and excluding the sun thing I'm using as a light source).
Might have to alter the lightest shades of green and red later on, as they do not look contrasting enough to me now. By the way, I'm not done yet since I have yet to define the wood texture, and as such it doesn't look wooden (yet).

Hmm.
Maybe it'll be good if I draw some edges like this wooden buddist statues have. Thanks for the tip!
Your goat is funny, too. You will change that colors to wooden later?
UPD.
Not sure if I'm going in the right direction.

UPD2.
Did some work on colors. They are more wooden now, picture has more volume, but still don't look good.
It's some progress, though.

today I finally decided to enter this challenge, and here is my WIP

Is it ok to add BG and words? or we just need to draw the sheep?

Date Posted: 21 February 2015 at 8:26am
Heh, thanks :P No, I intend to keep the colors; I'm going for colored wood.
@RolandMelvinZ I think it's fine to do words, a scene etc. just as long as the sheep/goat/ram is the main focus. By the way, it doesn't look too wooden to me... At least not the body/wool. It still looks kind of fluffy.

Let's hope I finish this by the end of Sunday and submit it... and I also pray the texture gives the wooden look and does not look random :|
EDIT: More WIP
