You could use more organic colors, the color-choice as of now are great for starting-out, but, of course, could be improved.

Also, since you're using less layers of shading, I suggest more contrast.

Very interesting piece! :D I did play around with it a wee bit, just the colors.

Hue shifting can make your piece pop a little more, add a little contrast and help with shapes and whatnot. I find shadows much more defined and less bland when hue shifting as opposed to simply using a darker version of the base color

Hi.

So I started to try to make the image better but it end up worst then i got carried away and this is the end result (sorry)

I m new at pixeling and I d love to know what is wrong with what I did (I really need to improve and fast :S) :

(I wanted to create more contrast and improve the light source position )

When you have an update with your pixels in the gallery please use the 'edit it' under the art to upload your revision rather than delete the art and resubmit again :)

Typically when I pick shades, I shift hues (Usually toward purple or blue) and lower the saturation. You can create different moods and atmospheres this way too, I just picked a few different hues and saturation levels for an example :)
