Initial sketch ending for the day. It's the inside of an IPhone4S. I'm going to try to add in every detail including the scratches and minor corrosion from the battery failing.

Not sure what I'm going to do with the blue area. I forgot I couldn't use transparency when I composed the image.

Hey PJ !

I'll try to submit an entry for this challenge.
I've been browsing a lot of Slow motion video for animation study recently.
So i thought of a slow Mo failed ignition from a lighter.
This perspective in term of time shift and angle reminds me of fireworks mixed with NASA shots.

So here is my mid-step WIP.

Any feedbacks are very welcomed  !

Mr_Hk_ : that's amazing, i like it big time... but do unfortunately in this challenge there is a restriction against animated pictures

Ho S***, my bad, first time trying the PJ challenge and I didn't compute this animation restriction, even if I do remember the color and size limitations ...
I guess i was too exited about starting pixeling my idea.
I'll finish it for it's own sake then =)

Here is my current WIP. Roughly 4 hours of work on this already (slow, I know).

Maybe the perspective is not original enough for this challenge?

The perspective and angle are good.
You are not close up enough tho :)

Yeah, I thought so... Don't think I can fix it at this point. Does this mean I'm disqualified?

Well its max 200 x 200 so you can crop in.
You can finish what you wanted to do and not enter.
You can start over since its a WIP.
Your call ;)

The idea is not to recognize what it is at first.

I did some colour experiments with this one... lemon morphed in to a cup of coffee... which one do you think i should proceed with by colour or other aspects?

I think I'll start something up for this later today, I've been looking at so many ideas but I think something simple done well might be the go

I wasn't asking about the perspective, I was asking about the "object" part, it's not up to me whether it counts or not so I'd rather an official response on it, although I looked at the definition of object and an eye is certainly material, can be touched and can have feelings and other things associated with it, so it would count in that sense.

I just didn't think of eyes when I thought "everyday object" (more like pencils and bottle tops). It's more a piece of anatomy, a hand holds an object but is not the object (at least usually?). All that being said I'm working on an eye since I've wanted to do one for ages, but if it doesn't count I'll submit it outside of the contest and do something different for this.

Impressive. It will likely shoot to the top of the weekly showcase as is. Can't wait to see it finished.
