This is my new submission to Pixeldam. It is a museum of bugs and
beetles and other creepy crawlers. I was inspired by Bliz and his
awesome palette used in the "Judge Dredd" trucks in the gallery. Went
on his site and he had a bunch of bugs.
The base that you see here is the Pixeldam base (the blue parts) not
made by me. I am unsure that the brown colored steps and floor are the
right colors for this. I tried the same blues and it didn't look good.
Should I place lots people on it hanging aroung and going in/out, or
leave it bare? Can you tell the eggs are lamposts? Are the benches too
"wrong". I am going for an Art Nuveau kind of look. The stuff on the
building are mossy vines, that I placed to soften the structure a
little bit since there are no windows.
c+c welcome and requested

Whoamg! That's excellent. Were the benches around it done by you too or are they part of the template? I think they could use some texture.
Either way - this is awesome. Can't wait to see this develop :)

The transparency of the wings is kickass. Those (stolen, lol) colors look nice. God, I want to live in THAT building.

I found it odd hwo big of a shadow those lightpoles were giving yet the huge bug gave none. [actually, after zooming in, I noticed they were the base to the ground; this whole thing needs shadows, though]
you should know everything else it needs, basically cleaning up ;)

The one line running ground-level across the front wall of the building is annoying me, because it lines up with the lines in the sidewalk. Such a consistent line makes my brain chop the legs off where they intersect, making it hard to figure out what's going on.
I need a new brain, this one is stupid.
Regardless, you've not stopped making sweet, sweet love with whatever program you use, and I'm loving that fact. You're brilliant, >(")<

Lar, thx for catching the lame door, I had missed that.
Sab, I have tried so hard to see the line you refer to and can't find it :/
Beefur, that's the trick to making iso work interesting :|
pie, and others too, this is an update showing what I made in color and the Pixeldam base in greyscale.
The wing shadow is not in the correct place on purpose cuz it looked
ugly, composition wise. I will now polish it up while looking for that
line? and while any other error is called, thx again.

Why does the wingshadow turn the grey bar orange but the grey (road?) blue?

the wing is orange, it is orange on white because it is semi transparent, so the light filters through the color and causes hues

That is the line I was referring to. It is now much more broken up in your update, so my whining and insane particularity has been rendered obsolete. Something still looks wrong.
The wings aren't centered over the head. and in the wing's shadow the line is colourful. The line on the street. (Edit - it's supposed to be like that. Oops and meh)

the fence is pretty ok art nouveau, and so are the benches' feet (?) buit the top of the benches are far to plain, and the builing is totally not art nouveau-ish

Aleiav, I have no control over the blues. It's the base on Pixeldam.
snader, I realize the architecture is not Art Nuveau. I meant with the
use of colors and the and the wings being like stained glass, the rusty
copper and the like. rather than actual Art Nuveau architecture :/
Sab, you are awesome. Because its easier to move the head, rather than
the wings, I'll move that, great catch. You are also right about the
simplistic line break. I will just redo the whole front of the building
using vertical breaks to help that out.

Not the blue of the sidewalk. The second version seems to have a bluer sidewalk around the museum than the first. Did you greyscale the rest of the neighboorhood in the second one?

Awesome.
I do think you might be overdoing it with the color of the wingshadow. Seems more colorful than the wing when it should be less. Also, a little rim-light on the "eggs" might be nice.

I've moved the head to be centered and redrawn the whole front of the building in the hopes of meeting Sab's approval

Wouldn't the shadow from the wing have more of a redish tinge? Since the wings are transparent.

@Sab, I'm so relieved :D
@Lar, I do fail at anything sprite :(
@Souly, Yes the wing would cast a pinkish shadow. I added some red to
the wing shadows. I was trying for the lowest possible color count :/
This is my final submitted to Pixeldam. I will post in the gallery after its posted on Pixeldam. Post closed and thx to all!
EDIT: dammit, there's a blavk blob left over from when I moved the head. Will fix and resubmit.
