CHALLENGE: Star Wars Portraits II

In honour of the new Star Wars movie, we have another Star Wars Portrait challenge ( http://pixeljoint.com/2014/05/05/4301/Pixel_Art_Challenge-_Star_Wars_Portraits.htm - here's the first one ). Create a self-portrait as one of the Star Wars species listed below.

If you're the kind of person that's comfortable sharing pictures of yourself on a pixel art website, then link to a photo of yourself so we can see what your human form looks like. This is optional though.

Canvas size - Max 80 x 80.
Colours - Max 16.
Transparency - Optional.
Animation - Optional.

CHALLENGE RULES

  • Participants have until this upcoming Sunday at midnight (12AM Pacific) to /pixels/submit_icons.asp'>submit their entry (strict). Don't forget to check the 'Submit to weekly challenge' checkbox.
  • Only new pixels allowed.
  • Open to all members.
  • Posting WIPs in this thread or in new threads in the /forum/forum_topics.asp?FID=8'>WIP section is highly encouraged, but ONLY SUBMIT YOUR FINAL ART.

CHALLENGE JUDGING

  • Every Sunday at midnight (12AM Pacific) the previous week's entries are judged.
  • Every week a new voting poll will be posted for previous week's entries.
  • Winner announced the following week.

CHALLENGE PRIZES/GOODIES

  • Top three finishers will receive an award displayed in your PJ gallery profile for all to see and envy.
  • Top finisher gets to call the following week's challenge...sweet.
  • 'Participation' ribbons will be given for all who enter.
  • No matter what happens you get challenged :)

Never done a portrait but i decided to make a togruta

IM SUPPERRR HYPED FOR THIS !
i've never done a challenge before but i enjoy starwars!
this is what i got so far, hope you enjoy it as much as i did making it :)
took around 2 hours to do
i wanted to give it a little loopy mouth but maybe i should fix that
tell me if i need to fix anything
because there's always going to be flaws

@LeithGil; It's going fine, but you may want to give it some dimension by adding some darker colors, and add some antialiasing.

@ihermes; It looks good. Right now without a body and background it looks a little out of place. Also the black outline is a little distracting.

Not sure how to draw fur to look like fur. And may be too much dithering. (2x scale version)

Yup. That fur is over pixelled.
Dithering is ok.
Don't go for pixelling every hair in the fur.
Try more for a furry texture and be simple about it because everyone knows an Ewok is furry so you only need to suggest it.
If I find a good fur example in the gallery I'll post it here for you :)

You should try linear noises rather than dots. Check out the current entries so far. http://pixeljoint.com/pixels/challenges.asp
