Just make sure that when you submit you remove the colour-reduced gradient in the corner.

Even tho macs generally are lighter in color my monitor is well calibrated because nothing freaks me out more than uncalibrated monitors belonging to an artist.

I know its overexposed but maybe you've gone overboard.

I will assume that all the jaggy/dirty bits are due to still being in WIP mode.
You pixel really well and clean so its not a crit...yet

person from front or behind.?
it looks like looking at the explosition but the arm and body do also let you assume the opposite a bit.
didn't look at the boots b.t.w

forgot to mention that the cape/mantle indicates too that its from behind.

@TheBigang
Well, if you're intending to show the guy from behind... You've got to work on that hand and arm, especially the hand. It looks twisted. The cape could use a little refining, too.
But otherwise, not bad! :)

TheBigang, I went with a similar concept, hope you don't think I copied your idea...

Feel free to! I probably won't participate to this week's challenge, so I won't finish mine.
Looking forward to see what is coming from you!

is the tree/wood in bg  too dark ( sdchould i remove it?)  and  which version looks better?

First attempt, looks too boring so I'm just making a portrait.

Current attempt.

I want to try to get a lot more detail in on the face, but since it's overexposed there can't be a lot of shadows going on to bring put any of the facial features :/
Version 2 with increased contrast.

@bluedxca
I prefer the left version's colours. I would remove the tree in the back because it's really noisy and subtracts the attention from the bird. Also, the bird seems to be really pillow-shaded.

edit:

did now rework the bird a bit, and clustered bg a bit more.
the pillow shading is wanted, cause its overexposed. do look what i can do about it.

@Adrawingman picture 2-3 is great. 3 with a bit more shadow would be wonderful.
