Made this punch cycle, would just love some comments and critique! Please forgive the fact that only the hand is outlined, in the game the rest of the body has an outline added via code.

To me, the punch just kind of stops, and the body with it. Usually when you punch, your body also follows through. Is there a reason it enlarges with a thumbs up? Like a comedic effect? If it was a punch I would keep the thumb tight on top of the fist.
I would also suggest speeding up the yellow shock effect too if it's meant to go with the punch hitting something.
Last, delay the hair snapping back a couple frames. Right now part of the animation seems to flow towards the punch, instead of away.

The thumbs up is to play into the character's happy/optimistic persona. Partially comedic effect, but it's also a secondary hit. That's part of the reason the body seems to stop, I can't think of a way to get the fist back in thumbs-up position.
The shock effect is to accentuate the secondary hit from the thumbs up.
I'm not sure what you mean by animation flowing towards the punch. I think that's what I want? Currently it's timed to snap back into the place directly when the thumb goes up
