Hello! I've been doing pixel art for really just a month or two for fun, but I would like to make a game in that specific style now.
Here are some practice sprites for a platformer.
Idle
Run

Jump

Any critique on animation and the sprites themselves would help a lot!

In the run animation, the eye seems to bounce half a pixel up. Are you not drawing these at 1x? The AA colours aren't really helping because they're too light. Try making them a tad darker, especially on the green one.

Ah thanks for the advice! These were originally drawn in 24x24, the eye bounce on the run was intentional but it seems like it'd be better still.
Tried darkening the AA

The pink looks good but the greeb AA us stukk barely visible.
The run bobbing feels off to me, it's too quick and I'm not quite sure that it happens at the right point in the cycle.

Darkened the green AA some more, added and removed some frames. Made them go up a bit higher and lower.

Darker.
Remember, AA is essentially blending between two colours. It should be be approximately halfway between them, value-wise. It doesn't have to be exactly halfway since hues and surrounding colours also play into it, but it's a good starting point. Your "darker" AA was almost as bright as the light green. I hue-shifted the colour towards blue and desaturated it a bit just because that looks better.
The new animations look a lot better!
I recommend not upscaling your art like you have been, just upload it at 1x. Your resizing is making some of the pixels wonky.

Ooh okay, didn't go nearly as dark as I thought I did. I'll have to remember that, looks much better!
Just going to go ahead and put them here in their normal size.

I think it will be fun if it rolls and crashes into something

Couldn't access this site for some reason, but yeah that is something I plan on doing actually! I kinda want them to have power-ups/transformations that can help eachother out with attacking and mobility.
This would be when the pink one jumps on him, not too sure if the bounce is portrayed well though.
Also that's a cute animation there

The animation is really well done! I could feel the elastic from your work!

Ahh thank you!
Still getting things together but here's a basic default attack.
Also putting this specific game on hold for another, so expect different sprites at some point!

Weak Attack, you need to add more expression! for example, deformation into an oval with torn edges during an attack or shoot with it's eye like yo-yo or like Paddle Ball
