Hi my Name is Jan,
i always loved the style of 8 bit games. Now i stoped playing and just invest my time to draw or pixelate some things.
i hope you can give me some feedback and advice :)
The house is inspired by verbit.
And the improved scarecrow was made with the amazing help of gennoveus.
I know the house has to much colours but it was my very first try :) and im on my way to improve this

Wow, very good for beginner!
There are little defects, in pixel art, rarely smooth gradients in the shadows look non appropriate.

The tiles on the roof look really blurry because they have faint shadows on both sides of the line. I think you'll get a sharper and more voluminous look if you keep the shadows to just the side of the tiles and no cast shadows. Overall, I am having a hard time imagining how you even made this building with this many colours. Did you use brushes and gradients? It seems like you created more work for yourself instead of taking a simpler route and getting a cleaner result.
Here's an edit of the roof tiles. I gave them some thickness, made them not-blurry (but, ironically, less blocky because I AAed the edges and got rid of the banding you had) and reduced the colour count (on just the tiles) from over 100 to just 8.
I hope this gives you some ideas on how to proceed! In general, I recommend sticking to your Pencil, line, and bucket tools unless you're 100% certain you need something else. What might seem like a shortcut to create some textures or colours will quite likely give you worse results and waste time in the long run, and will deprive you of a learning opportunity.

Much better :) The hat is too fixed, you can make a little flapping the brim of the hat.

The animation on the poncho reads more like something seen through rippling water rather than an object flapping in the wind. Don't be afraid to have the whole poncho move and flap. As-is, it would have to be fixed with pins almost everywhere to move like that.

Oh, oh, I imagine how much time was spent to animate this :) It remains only to finish the belly and add a slight rocking of the head, that it would not seem frozen. And yet, try not to make a Twitching Pixels

Ok i got a free day today and desided to rework the human model again ....
from left to right old to newest
in my opinion all the time i spended to make Pixels makes me better. but see and decide for yourself
btw i changed to the new model because i wanted the char to more topdownview but it doesnt worked very well. now i need more practice in perspective and aa . and the worst is ...i must redraw the whole sheet for Animation ...that sucks
