Hello good people of Pixel Joint ,
I am returning to pixel art, and art in general really (I was a noob before anyhow). I am doing my best to get back into it, but I really need some help. If you could point out the mistakes, and point me in the right direction, I would be eternally grateful!
Thanks in advance guys!

Edit: This is for a platformer I'm working on if that's relevant. Also Smileys.

I am not good at simple styles. But the obivious answer would be some shoes and hands would be nice.

Lol good point. I'm working on getting those in. And I wasn't planning on keeping it simple. Just not sure what direction to go in yet. Thanks for your reply.

Consider shading the right leg with brighter colors, otherwise it looks like his legs are behind his torso, moreover, animating same-colored legs would be hard. Also, his left leg looks strange.
Regarding hands and feet, it could be a stylistic choice to omit them. After all, you omit mouth and nose. Also, it is hard to discern if that pixel is part of hair curl or an eye. The neck could be a little too fat, but that is a again a stylistic choice, depending on what kind of character you make and your art direction.

The form of the character looks nice. I like flat shaded pixel art when done good - this is looking good so far!
