I don't normally draw robots, mechs, spaceships, mechanical stuff like that, etc. I've always wanted to get better at that but always avoided it because they're too complex!. The main shapes and forms of robots are easy to note but the smaller clunkier details always seem a bit blurry in my head. Do any of you guys know a thing or two about robots or have any suggestions to this before I start animating him?

I suggest first drawing it in 3 orthogonal projections, 3d editor style. That is usually how robots are designed.

the design is ok, but i think the legs look off. they do not seem to align with the body, and they are just big chunks.

there are humanoid or human like robots, but maybe look into more utilitarian designs for a combat robot or different proportions. it could be a mech suit right now.

I looked at it again this morning and yeah, the legs hit me the most, the legs look drastically different and undetailed. Thanks guys.

Black lines, especially inner black lines are very distracting, consider redoing your work without any inner lines at all!

If you're interested in animating him, I would simplify the design much more! Take away a lot of the details, such as the panels, the dots and stars... Focus on large shapes, and visualize how they would look in 3d!
