Hey Char, welcome here! I fixed the images in your post, you can http://pixeljoint.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=26027 - read how to post images on this forum here . Also, it would be helpful to those critiquing if you show us an unzoomed version of that first image! As for a first bit of critique: In the second image, is there so much mist that the light from the candle reflects in the sky? And why does it not reflect on the tree? The light from the moon seems very very strong! A lot of your lines seem a bit random/hand drawn, even the glow around the moon for example, or the leaves texture. Probably at this stage it would be easier to get something nice without a texture or pattern, just leave out details like leaves and focus on the overall shape of the tree! |

| how else would you suggest other than "hand drawn", is there a certain method, or should i just refine the edges afterwards |

yes, refine the edges! Find out what you'd want a line to do, and then remove all the jaggies |
