Really nice work so far.

Maybe I don't understand what you are asking. What specifically is giving you problems with the hair?  Every other part is shaded nicely and the hair could be just the same no?

Iīve never done detialed hair before and as hair has is made of fibres itīs diferent to skin, clothes, etc, I was just wandering if anyone with experience on doing hair could give me some pointers, because itīll be hard.  Thanks for replying.

Awesome, LP rocks. ahem. Well the only tip I got is just to look at the hair flatly and see the direction of each strand of the spikes. As you look at the hair flatly notice the different shades of color. Hope that helped at least a little bit. I'm not an expert but... just trying to help.

I have some useful tits...

Now, about the hair. Just look at the picture, and do what your heart tells you. I know that probobly doesn't help, I just wanted to point out the tits thing without being off-topic.

It's such a shame the "i" key is so close to the "u"

OK, back on topic.

As for what you have done so far, the outline of his hair looks a bit too polygonal.  I'd start on the outline and clean that up first.  Notice the glow of the light on his hair.  As for the main part of the hair, I would actually start with the darkest color (being on the bottom) and add layers of progressively lighter hair "regions" (couldn't find a better word) as you go.  IDK, maybe this'll help.  Good luck with this, it looks great!

Yeah thanks :), Iīve actually finished it and just put it up now :).  The poligon shape was really just a base, I fixed that when I finished, I used that method like you said for the light bits of hair.  I donīt know if to put it up or not here. This is the WIP section after all, anyway, you can all look at it in my gallery :).

Yeah, I sort of figured it was just a template.

Why don't you upload it to photobucket or something and put a link here so we can see?  I'd love to see what you've come up with.

One thing that bothers me though.  Where his hair meets his forehead at the top, it's just a line.  Perhaps you could smooth that out so it looks like his hair is more connected to his head.

Hmm, yes that bothers me too, you have a good eye :).  But meh, Iīm too damn lazy to fix it at the mo, it took long enough to do lol, maybe some other time ;)
