Working on this piece for a school project and I was wondering if the hair and eye could be improved, or anything else I could change. Thanks

It's hard to tell where the eyeball ends and skin begins, so it's hard to critique the eye. One definite problem is that the iris is a straight line. Since the eyeball is round and the iris sticks out even more, it should have a noticeable curve.

The hair looks nice, but very WIP. I think with more detailing it'll look good. One potential issue is how sharp the transition from hair to skin is, both in the fringe and in the hair in front of the ear. Here's one possibility for softening it:

I see, Thanks! I'll try to make some changes to that and probably redo the eye.

Alright, so I added some hair detail, found a way to fix the hair-skin transition, and reworked the eye a bit. Still not sure about the eye, and I don't know if the hair detail is better. Please point anything out that can be improved upon. Thanks.

The eye still looks flat rather than curved. Here's a http://l7.alamy.com/zooms/57a6f3029c0a42af86b3edea499620f5/profile-close-up-of-a-womans-eye-axxcrc.jpg - ref photo , look how curved the lens is!

Look at some ref (or yourself in the mirror) for the sideburn. It looks strange being so solid. Even on people who grow their sideburns out, there's usually a lot of skin visible because the hair is scraggly and has a low density.
Similarly, the hair line behind the ear is way too sharp.

Above the sideburn you have a tuft of hair that goes from midtone to dark with a very sharp transition, looks a bit odd.

The big dithered bit in the hair looks out of place, since the texture is so unlike hair, and since you have so many colours for the hair that the dithering doesn't seem necessary.

Thank you, I'll see what I can do on these points you brought up. Yeah, I didn't change the eye much last time, I'll do that now.
My sideburns are pretty thick, as is the rest of my hair, so I think I may leave that part the same.
I should be able to fix the hairline and dithering pretty easily.
I'll also fix that weird tuft to connect it more to the front of the hair, hopefully creating a more natural flow. My hair does transition colors somewhat abruptly, but I should be able to at least make some parts work better.

Okay, I decided to leave the sideburn how it is, but I changed the eye a bit to be more curved. Few pixels were changed, but I believe that it made a big difference.
I replaced the dithered part with a bit more texture/lighting stuff.
I fixed the sharp transition behind the ear, adding a bit of visible skin and some more visible hair bits.
I also changed some of the area around the weird-looking tuft of hair to make it blend in more and I gave a bit of form to the hair over the forehead.
Thanks again for all your help.
