Hey everyone!

I started this piece way back in 2011 and have been hacking away at it very slowly over the past few years. It's finally gotten to the point where it's nearly finished and I'm looking to get some feedback on what could make it perfect.

Here's the shot so far:

And the restricted palette used:

And of course the cover of the movie it's based on:

Any and all feedback would be very appreciated!

Thanks

It looks quite nice!

I'm not a big fan of such realistic pieces based on other artworks, it seems to add little personality over an automated redux. But that's not to say this isn't well done!

Areas that can be cleaned up in my opinion:
The hand of the woman needs less dithering, and so does the left hand of the man. Their details now get a bit fuzzy.
Ideally the left hand of the man would not align with the castle in the way that they are almost attached, the slightly different alignment in the original image seems better.
The part of the strap that's under his chin seems to disappear. Maybe also less dithering there
The greenish shading dithering on the side of the woman's chest is unnecessary I think, she'd be prettier with just the orange
His left nipple is huge. And what is the dark spot on his right? It looks like his nipple in the pixel art, but I think you misread the original where it is just a bit of shading under his pectoral.
His right arm could possibly also use less dithering. Remember that skin is a shiny surface!

That's it for now, good luck!

Thanks for the great feedback! I'll likely post my next round of hacking away at it some time this weekend and I'll see how much of this I can get in.
