If I were to guess it just appears rushed and unfinished. I also believe it violates a few of the rules below..
Rule #2: No works in progress (WIPs). We're not too strict on this one...just don't submit half finished pieces.
Rule #4: Please make sure backgrounds are transparent or serve a purpose - don't just post a single color background unless it fits.
This piece also seems be partially traced. This isn't necessarily against the rules if you make it clear..BUT it doesn't help get it into the gallery any faster.
Hope this helps! I recommend just spending a little more time on detailing some things. For example his face looks to have some color reduction on it maybe? unless his shoulder pad is a big chocolate bar and its smeared on his face! XD
Here's a good example of something similar that made it into the gallery (By pixel artist Captain Kurre). You can see the differences pretty clearly:

I understand the whole thing is made with 'squares'/pixels, but so is every digital artwork. For work to fit in the gallery the pixels need to be placed with intention and work together with the pixels around them. http://pixeljoint.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=11299&PID=139318#139318 - See also the first chapter of this tutorial
Your work is very rough at the moment, a lot of pixel placement seems random or not ideal. Also the shading/coloring seems lazy/simple. If you're interested in improving this we can help you more in this thread, maybe start with this:

Definitely cleaner than the ones above! But there is still plenty of room for improvement here. The shading on his chest (the blue) seems really random, I can't really tell what it is. His face could be more readable, probably a bit of simplification would help there.
Overall, the contrast between the strong poses and incredibly hard to read details make it feel like a tracing, as JerryPie mentioned as well...

Also, they are all directly copied/traced from other artist's work with neither disclosure nor credit.

Yes, it's definitely improving, and thanks for linking to the line art in the description.
I think you could improve still, for example the lines on the top of his head are a bit weird, the top lines of the red part could be made perfectly straight (the jags removed). Also, from this image I can't tell what the gold bit is, I had to look at the line art to tell that it was his shoulder...
