Hey everyone! I've been working on my next piece, which is fanart of the character Simon Snow from the book Carry On, and I think it's ready for critique!

I'm particularly interested in feedback on shading and animation, but if anything else jumps out at you, definitely let me know! (Ignore the stray blue pixel in the corner; just a small oversight.) Thank you for your time.

I think the animation would be better if we can see how the wings appear (in pain for the character, in a explosion of power, very quickly etc). It has to be more complex, with more expressed details in the character position during the animation. And don't forget anticipation

Thanks so much! That's very helpful feedback, and while I hadn't encountered the concept of anticipation before (this is only my second pixel animation) it makes a ton of sense. I'll see if I can push things further with my next draft.

While you are working on it, you shouldn't do the colors (or just do flat colors) on every frame, until you are happy with the animated skeleton / shadow figure you're doing.

EDIT : you can see the process here for example : https://youtu.be/5VkDXBsIXso?t=1m14s - https://youtu.be/5VkDXBsIXso?t=1m14s
