Hi there,

So, last night, I've been a little inspired by diablo 3's necromancer and made a pixel art depicting one of those dark fellows.

I've struggled quiet a bit to make it read properly, not convinced 100% convinced I did a good job.

The shading might be a little off places here and there, but my biggest struggle is where should I put darker pixels to seperate parts better and if I should have an outline or not, I feel like adding an outline makes it just too bulky, maybe this proportions are not working well with outlines ?

Anyway, any constructing advice would be much welcome :)

thanks :D

(Oh and btw, this is practice pixels, because I have been thinking about developping my own game for some time now, but I would like to practice making pixel art for a while just to convince myself I can make something convincing before commiting too much effort in code and such, so here it goes, cheers)

In general, I think you do a really good job of evoking a ton of detail in a small space. Well done! A few small notes:

- The shading on her face looks a bit off - it seems like you were trying to double-dip with outlines and shading, but more natural shading would probably work better.

- The skull on the shoulder seems to be a bit flat on the side - it might look more interesting if it was rounded.

Honestly, I think this is a great outfit and a solid start! Don't worry too much about outlines - I think with these proportions, they would just muddy things up.

Good luck with your game development!

I like the drawing, but I would go for a lot more contrasted colors like this:

and maybe even more contrasted (and with more brightness) than this, if it needs to stay easily visible in a scene (with background/ particles etc.)

Thanks for the advice, I understand :)

I a bit afraid of doing too much contrast as I come from a more traditional painting background but I think you're right! I'll keep it in mind !

Thanks for the paint-over !
