Hello there - this is my first post.
Been working on this sprite for a GB game I'm creating with a friend (he's currently using GBDK). I'm not sure how to convey wings with such constrained resolution and limited palette (I'm used to VGA mode 13H).

What else would you people advice me on this?

Should I ditch the dithering?

PS: I'm using GRAFX2 and loving it!

EDIT: IMGUR seem to have compressed my image and added a lot of artifacts!
switching to my own hosting.

I'd recommend something like this - when working with a constrained pallet and a constrained size, it can be difficult to really convey noisy stuff like feathered wings. With a more conventional shape, though, I think it becomes a bit more clear. That said, I think your original shape would work just as well if it were animated.

Also tried to give you an idea of how you could tackle the lighting, but the tricky part is that your dark gray is so dark that it bleeds into the black. Makes it become a really high contrast shadow that's a bit tough to break up. It's workable though, and I think you've actually created a very cute flying pig.

Very nice suggestions! Posting here was really worth it!

I tried to follow your lead without looking at it. but I decided to keep the dithering, as it gives a more round shape shape to "Jamonito", as I like to call it.

Still, the wings don't look as good as yours. But having yours show me where I'm mistaken. I will post more updated later. Thank you!
