Welcome to the next ISO collab fellow members of Pixel Joint!

This time, we will draw an alien planet! This includes all sorts of aliens, civilized or monster, alien buildings or nests, humans landing and/or exploring, spaceships or UFOs, alien habitat, alien geography (e.g. flying isles), laboratories, and everything sci-fi. Hello aliens, we come in peace!

Collab Rules, Specs, Notes and FAQ on Post 3 below

This project features http://pixeljoint.com/p/158352.htm - AdigunPolack 's award winning http://pixeljoint.com/2019/05/20/5996/17_Color_Palette_Comp_Winner_-_AdigunPolacks_AAP-MajestyXVII.htm - palette .
If you submit your tile to your PJ Gallery (which you should) you do not have to credit http://pixeljoint.com/p/158352.htm - AdigunPolack but it would be nice of you.

Scale example:

Characters in the scale example are drawn by http://pixeljoint.com/p/4343.htm - vierbit in the previous collab.

This collab is being run by your fellow PJ moderators.

Rules
You can create more than one tile but your tile may not neighbor your own tile (even diagonally).
Only one active tile reservation at any one time per participant. You must finish a tile before making a new one.
Once you reserve a tile you must post an initial WIP within 4 days so it doesn't hold others up. 4 days pass quickly, so it is a good idea to post your WIP as soon as possible.
Once you post an initial WIP you get 7 days to update your tile or post a comment letting us know its active. Every new WIP/post update (busy, school, work, sick, moving, etc.) thereafter buys you another 7 days. This period is given so that you don't have to rush it, try not to forget your reservation.
Outer tiles MUST use transparency to 'break the grid' (See the last collab edges http://pixeljoint.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=26398 - HERE ).
Inner tiles CAN NOT use transparency.
You must use the supplied palette colors (17) only, but you don't have to use them all in your tile (Those making outer tiles will have one extra color for transparency).
NO animations.
Your tile must match the tiles surrounding yours, unless your tile has no neighbors (up to first 10 tiles). This will become increasingly tougher as tiles get added. Some tiles will need to match on as many as 4 sides.
Matching your neighbors does not mean it has to continue their idea/concept. Just that it blends seamlessly somehow. Note that this doesn't mean you're supposed to destroy your neighbors' ideas. Stay within the collab spirit!
Please keep the collab's general light-source and scale as shown below consistent in your tile. This may be tweaked in your tile if you use secondary light sources.
Please post your tile on its own as a comment and make sure to say what number it is and it will be added to the collab master image by a Collab Manager in order to keep the color palette true.
Your tile may be added to the master image in WIP stages if it shows the tile's direction enough to help others visualize their own tiles.

Special Rules
The first 10 tiles may be anywhere at all and require no neighboring tiles. If you pick one of these first 10 tiles, please try to finish your tile a.s.a.p. in order to open up space for others.
From the 11th tile on (or once a finished tile has been put into place) your new tile reservations MUST have at least one neighboring tile already posted that your tile blends into.
In the event that a tile is made without a reservation or 2 people accidentally work on the same tile a special vote may be held, or a duel to the death may be started by the 2 people.
Special rule(s) may be added to accommodate whatever loophole y'alls manage to find and exploit.

Special request from Gecimen: Let us have some means of contacting you in case you forget your reservation. The most common way is setting your PJ account to email you whenever you receive a PM.

Notes
Novice or pro, all are encouraged to collaborate.
Possible tile rejection if your tile is not in isometric projection or fails in scale.
Possible tile rejection if your tile does not match and blend into your neighbor(s) tile.
Possible tile rejection if your tile's concept defies the collab theme.
Possible tile rejection if your tile just doesn't blend in with some degree of harmony. Should this happen to you check for comments left for you... there will be some!
You can get tips and help to improve your tile on this thread. No need to make a separate WIP thread.
You are encouraged to take all c+c on your tile. You do not need to apply all given c+c but please don't ignore them. Especially from your neighbor. Remember this is a 'collaboration'.
Please use Yanrishatum's upgraded 'PJ Image Specs' tool http://yanrishatum.ru/pj/ - HERE to check your final tile colors has max 17 colors (+ transparency, 18 if an outer tile) and the right colors.

FAQ:
Q: Can I extend my tile over someone else's tile?
A: No. You can only ask them to edit their own tile, and if they don't, you'll have to find another way. The only exception is border tiles where you can slightly extend over your neighbor's transparent space (for continuity reasons).
Note: "your neighbor's transparent space" means you do have an existing neighbor tile.

Q: If I have a border tile, can I extend my tile further than the border of the collab image?
A: Yes. We will enlarge the collab image as required. As with everything, be reasonable on this (don't put a 100 px long tentpole just for the sake of enlarging the image size).

Q: What can I do if I want to draw something really big?
A: If you want to draw something that will take more than a tile, you can draw a lineart sketch and ask people to join your "mini collab". If it's something interesting, you will certainly find people. Then you do your own part and let other people do their own thing. Everyone can add their own taste into their own tiles. You can check previous collabs for mini collabs.

Q: Can somebody else finish my tile from where I left?
A: No. We may allow this under very special circumstances (e.g. health) but normally unless you want to finish your tile, you have to give up on it.

Q: Is it OK to drop my reservation? Will I be banned?
A: Not at all. You can drop your reservations as many times as you want.

Q: I can't reach a certain quality. What should I do?
A: Collabs are great for this. You can work on your neighbor tiles, listen to criticism, and start over as many times as you want. And when YOU are satisfied, you can say it's done. As long as your tile meets the criteria such as continuity, theme, lighting, scale & perspective; we will accept it.

Q: Can I use some existing pixels in my tile?
A: No, even if it was made by you. Everything in your tile must be made for this collab, by yourself.

Q: When I reserve a tile, do I need confirmation by mods to begin working on it?
A: Confirmation by mods may take upto 24 hours. So, if you are sure of these, you can begin working without confirmation.
1- your previous tile (if any) is finished,
2- you haven't made a neighboring tile previously,
3- the same tile is not claimed by someone else (check out the reservation table & latest posts),
4- the tile has a completed neighboring tile by someone else (except for first 10 tiles).

Thanks, I forgot they were in the collab as I only remember paying attention to tiles that surround mine lol, and it took a little time for me to find them again now because the image is so big XD

13 is yours. Edge tiles can be a little tricky to begin with.

Calling dips on #81

Posted By: Irenaart
Date Posted: 29 May 2019 at 11:57pm
@king_bobston; Can you pick some other tile. #81 is diagonal neighbor with Dnilo's tile #66, so it brakes the rule (read under Special Rules). You can take #80 if you want...

Do I have to wait for anyone with 13 or can I start right away?

@Doomhanger; you can start with your tile. That's the beauty of the first 10.

@darchangel; you can have the last (10th) one, but not #98. Eggy's tile (90) is neighboring tile. Pick some other...

@ Doomhanger, you can change the ground color to any of the colors from the palette.

That is looking good already by the way...

@doomhanger; those colors are only to separate tiles in the template . ignore them. but it looks good atm. :)

@darchangel; that's huge but I like where it's going. Just please make sure the ground looks a bit more isometric rather than side view (the left-most rocks are making it look side view).

@Irenaart; awesome! you don't really need something super sensational going on, just some alien plantation would be sufficient.

@Eggy; no worries, we aren't short on available tiles, yet.

A rough WIP of what I want to do... Some alien eggs on a field. Will certainly evolve into something better.

EDIT: Refined a little bit with additional details.

No, it's not a problem. Upload it whenever you can...

Posted By: Gecimen
Date Posted: 05 June 2019 at 4:05pm
@Doomhanger; looks very good. The outline, while totally your choice, looks good to me in terms of readability. IMO you can call this finished whenever you want.

Posted By: Doomhanger
Date Posted: 06 June 2019 at 8:42am
So, I played a bit with the outline and did a cleanup. I'd call this done ^^ Unless you guys want to point something out! Then please don't hold back!

@Gecimen How do I deliver the final file? Just in case, here is the download :D

P.S. I made the file indexed and the border transparent. Transparency is not in the spec, but I didn't use transparency in the actual tile of course. If something is not right, please tell me! I just want to make your life as easy as possible :D

P.S.S. Can we share this and upload it to PJ? Or is this all going to be shared in one big call when everything is done?

Hesitated to reserve a tile because I never finish them but eh

@Doomhanger I think it was unintentional but the stuff in your tile is oriented it looked a lot like it could be on a sphere. So here's this WIP.

Obviously people multiple tiles away don't have to accommodate at all if they don't want to, interpret as you like. But let me know if this breaks any iso perspective rules

Posted By: Doomhanger
Date Posted: 06 June 2019 at 11:23pm
@SpeedyCube The Sphere idea is interesting ^^

Posted By: Gecimen
Date Posted: 07 June 2019 at 12:55am
@Speedycube, it would be better if you don't cut the tile below the tile's original size. The borders are where people can draw big & interesting ideas. You don't have to change anything you drew but perhaps extend background or foreground items, like the one you have on the left (actually that might be also good for cutting the sphere idea, which might require 9 tiles unless cut somewhere :) )

Ok, I've started putting more texture on my walls, but I feel like they would look a bit noisy... thoughts? Any criticism is greatly appreciated!

@Gecimen actually a few more than 9... Don't worry btw, the "big and interesting" is on its way ;)

Here's the guide I used that might be helpful if more distant tiles choose to continue this as a sphere but draw whatever you guys want!!

@Speedycube; Haha that would be a good idea only if it was something like a smaller floating sattelite or something. Also Minord already completed 34.

Hmm that gives me an idea. Wanna go for something in the middle? Give me 5 minutes.

Edit: If you'd like to do something here and about this size instead, I think it would be more realistic. And I would also draw a tile. It would be like a floating satellite.

@Minord; that is a very good looking tile!

@Kaishido; if you'd like an example for an alien queen hatching room, check out http://pixeljoint.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=10983&PN=1 - this previous collab , you'll see a similar room on the right block.

@speedycube: I like the idea of the sphere structure, but agree with Gecimen about the size.

@Darchangel: Very cool, this reminds me of Dr. Seuss a little bit.

@0xDB Wow those crystals look great! Maybe some tiny shadows on your finer details so they aren't lost in the scale of the collab. It took me a while to notice the skull. Tiny dark outlines could help it stand out.

I'm kind of a sucker for dark outlines though, so I might have gone a little heavy. -- Overall your tile looks great though!

Okay so here's my next WIP. Fleshed out Marvin and the environment a little bit but the latter is far from done.
Any suggestions on what I could put in content-wise? The tile's feeling a little empty (e.g. Marvin has nothing/nobody to interact with, the ground is plain) and I'm still dry on ideas :(

I'd love to join! I can take any random number :-)

The telescope was always something he was looking through, or some other electronic equipment.

Also there are some other characters he use to run around with. The green dog, green bird, big furry red guy.

Hi. Sorry for the delay but I have had very busy days. Here is my first WIP and corresponds to the classic scene of an alien capturing a cow mounted on his UFO but in reverse.
