I've been banging my head against a wall here for a few days now, and I cannot for the life of me figure out a way to get this to work!

I'm trying to create a tile-able cave floor texture that doesn't look like generic cobblestone— since that...doesn't actually look like a cave floor.

Here are two of my attempts thus far, something inbetween the two— smooth yet also somewhat rough— is the ideal I am going for. Something with depth, that isn't just a flat cracked tile. Each of these is a 70x70 image containing 4 separate tiles. There were a number of now deleted attempts as well.

It is worth noting that, yes, I have looked at many an image of cave floors for reference. I just cannot figure how to translate that into pixels— and despite my efforts I have yet to find any pixel ref that isn't cobblestone.

What don't you like about these tiles specifically?

The first is more akin to cobblestone, it's a bunch of loose stones just sorta piled together rather than a connected, stable, flooring.

The second is too smooth, looking more like excavated and worn stone rather than a natural cave floor.

I like the palette of the first one but for what I think you want I think work on the second one a bit.  The texture is a bit random at the moment, some cracks and then some scuffs (?)  here's an example of a similar texture that you may like to see

Oh yes, thank you— that is similar to the kind of thing I am going for! I'll give it another go with that in mind.

Alright, think I'm much happier with this one! Thanks again!
