Hey there !

So I made an idle animation for my marine.

It is the first time I make one, so I struggled quiet a bit and its still a little funky..

I have a hard time telling what I do wrong. Any suggestion ?

And heres a version with 6 frames

It looks to me as if his legs and feet are changing thickness. The more I look at it, I think it should simulate foreshortening on the knee, am I correct? I have no idea if that's it, but in the first moment after I saw it, I immediately asked myself "why is his right foot pulsating?"
I like that the hands are also moving in the second one.

Indeed, the foot are "pulsating" a bit.

Ive never animated before, so I dont know what works and dont work.

The intent was to show persure on the boots as his stand lowers. It is of course exagerated a lot, I wanted to give it a cartoonish style. Also, in pixel art Ive read exagerated animation works best, so I gave it a try.

I take it, youre not sold on them ?

hmmm Im not sure how to make it interesting but more suddle

I think the second animation looks good, but the pixels which break the border in some frames are a bit distracting. I do think the border and general shape of the legs should be maintained.
