Hey, so I downloaded and played your game for about 20 minutes I'd say.
Story/Lore: The story was horrible, it felt like I was on a meme site, some of the pixels were a bit inappropriate. If that is the audience you're going for then that is fine, but if you want your game taken seriously, I'd say develop a more mature story because your game does have potential.
Key Bindings: When I got up to the gameplay. I hated the keyboard bindings so much, they were so spaced apart and awkward to press. If you're creating a hardcore game you should have good default key mappings otherwise people are just going to get frustrated and quit before giving your game a chance.
Camera: Camera, hated it. It doesn't not follow the character smoothly I hate how the camera jerks itself when you change direction.
Gameplay: Gameplay was frustrating, the tutorial level was horrible. I felt like I couldn't do anything right. You should gradually ease the player into the game, not throw them into the deep end. Honestly the tutorial was so frustrating for me that I never gotten further than that. I understand that you are making a "hardcore" game, but the tutorial is meant to be a place to become familiar with the game. Not piss off everybody who tries to play your game.
Visual: The speech bubbles in your game are horrible, you need to change them. They changed sizes and were a little unbearable.
Responsiveness: Also I noticed I couldn't skip some story scenes, that annoyed me that I was forced to sit there and watch your animated scenes. Always give the player the control over their computer, don't force them to do things they don't want to do. In my case I was forced to watch an animation that wasn't interesting to me and was wasting my time.
Level Design: I only played the tutorial level, but the level design in that was terrible so I am only going to assume that your level designing in general is terrible.
Music: I honestly don't think I heard anything, and if I did I've completely forgotten about it by the time I started writing this post.
A little background about myself, I have over 300 games. I've played and enjoyed 'hardcore' genre games such as dark souls and wizardry. I have a degree in computer programming and in art.
I am not trying to personally attack you in any way shape or form, this is purely a critique on your game, and what my experience was like. I have a lot of respect for you for creating this. I do see potential in it but you really have a lot of work to do and things to change in this game if you actually want to charge people money to play it.
kind regards,
Amazonite
