Hi, just wondering if anyone could give me some general feedback on my totally original IP, Larry... uh... Skyjogger. Larry Skyjogger -- who was definitely created by me.

mhm

Not sure what to ask about specifically.

I guess: "what absolute rookie mistakes must I be making?"

This is my first post!
Thanks in advance for any advice anyone can offer!

Hi there, I really like the character design, and overall composition!
I think it you really nailed the poses, too.

(I'm a total beginner, so take this with a grain of salt)
The only thing I'd tweak is the saturation and values. It looks like you're doing hue-shifting to some level (to my level of understanding), so here's what I'd do:

All I'm trying to do is increase contrast between areas where light is hitting, and shadows.

Another thing I'd do (but don't have the skill for) is take the light saber into account, and light the face, shoulder, and chest accordingly.

Hope that helps!

I strongly agree with gonzalodelgado's suggestion. The character, at 1x zoom, gets muddy. The purple sky and skin tone are notably trying on the eyes and require some contrast work through color values.

Otherwise, really solid work on the character. I like the dynamic poses you've gone with. First one especially does well to feel grounded and appears to hold weight, making for a more believable and effective piece.
