Hey, so this is my first time participating in one of this weekly challenges, and I'm also fairly new to pixel art in general, I just wanted to post the project I'm working on for the challenge and to be honest, I need some help, mainly because I was messing with the lighting and came across a problem

Ok, so, I know it looks like a mess, but when I fix this issue, I will be able to take care of other things, but as for now, he has a fire on his hand, and it seems incomplete due to the fact that some of its colors blend with the background, so I thought of giving it some kind of aura of light to make it make sense, but...

It looks baaad, please, does anyone have any idea of what can I do? I feel as if this is making it impossible for me to keep going. I just want to make that fire work in order to continue fixing everything else.

I'd be very tempted to darken the sky colour and switch the moon to pink. My eyes are drawn all over the place in your image because the grey shades used in the armour are more prominent on the moon, and the horse's mane is reflected by the clouds.

Darkening the backdrop makes the knight stand out more and also means that you can use more of the colours to shade the fire.

I think SeDiceBisonte's solution is great! But if for some reason you don't want to change the bg, you could also attempt a black flame:

The contrast is atrocious. Can be ameliorated a bit with black outlines:

Sadly, those colors were not in the challenge palette. But tbh I prefer the soft look!
