Your shading seems to be almost entirely dithering... use some more solids to shade the back of his head and around the cheekbone and jaw. You've picked good values, and it should be a nicely contrasting piece, but it looks like of flat right now... more spotty than shaded.

It looks like half of the face is missing. Not sure what you can do to fix it.

I noticed this too. And I figure the easiest way to fix it is also the most obvious. Add more to the other side of his face.

Quick and dirty edit time!

Another thing is the strange way his ear molds into his head and that black line made to seemingly show the edge of his cheekbone, they're both... not supposed to look like that. Ears usually curve upward when they connect to the head which would create the ear lobe or they have a connected ear lobe which still connects at a deeper angle than what you have. The thing about the harsh line under the cheek bone is that it's not where the cheekbone should be. The bone can actually be felt curving beneath your eye, level with the nose and the jaw comes into play when you feel lower than that. The edge of the cheek on this guy is level with his lips, which is really awkward.

the second one looks better, but the chin's a bit pointy.

Things I tried to fix: chin, ear, cheekbone. The cheekbone is now higher up, and has the under-shadow thing, but it looks a bit "meh." The ear is definte suckage. I also messed around with the cigar.

The black line is too harsh and makes it appear like his head is pasted on.

His body seems too big for his head

Looks to me to be the other way around. His head seems too big for his body currently.

Which black line? I also thought that the body doesn't seem likes it's actually connected to the head, but I'm not sure why. I slapped on the body just to fill in some space... yeah, it's and after-thought.

Ah crap. I just realized the dimensions are 63x64. Meh, I guess I'll have to add a bit more to his left shoulder, then.

I thiiiiiink you need to meet Brian's friend, mister flamethrower.
On second thought, maybe they've got a nice padded cell for you.
MAYBE there are rooms FULL of people like you! Who knows! Your future is wiiiide open, though I think I see a personalised lock looming over your horizon, if you don't stop making senseless posts.

I like the piece, HalfDemon. It bothers me that he has mounds of flesh for eyebrows, but it suits the style. S'coo, and greyscale pieces kick ass.

If we're going to have any more problems with you tomster, we won't be having them for much longer. Your post was completely random and was ACTUALLY quite hard to understand. This may well actually help you, http://www.pixeljoint.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=2824 - http://www.pixeljoint.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=2824 .

Man, the dither background looks really nice. I think you could do another variation of dithering for the darkest shade though, as it seems to cut off too quickly.
