Hello Everyone...I am a bit new here...A want to show some of my pictures so people here can give me some feedback.

Greyscale me: an greyscale avatar I have made for a comic I am doing.

A avatar I made with a few of my old stuff...I have come a long way in 3 years...

A character I have made called Little Emerald Apple Drop The Blob.

A couple of pixel arts characters I made for another comic.

An animation I call Little Emerald Apple Drops: Fruit Eater.

Welcome to PJ, Shaded Spriter.

I don't feel like using grammar and all that overrated stuff so here's a quickfire list for ya:
~At first i thought your latest avatar was x2 zoom, because of how jaggy it was. Sprites can't go without having their lineart cleaned, it just wont work. It's also usually a bad idea to dither in sprites that size (or smaller) because it gives an un-wanted texture and you could easily add a new colour to smoothen it out, because you shouldn't need too many in total for a sprite like that. Annoyingly i can't find out how many colours you did use, because you've added that CG background to the picture - but you should be able to do it in 10-14.

When shading you have to think about the shapes of the item you're shading, which would effect the way shadows are cast. The way you've shaded parts of your character give the feeling of flatness, because they don't add depth and follow the bone structure of the body and face.

(LOL, not such a quickfire list afterall... that's my fault)

~The animation at the bottom cannot be called pixel art, as it has been auto-AAd and the colours seem messed up, not quite sure why this would happen, but it may be to do with how you're saving it or converting to gif.

~The sprites with the pink background are 'pillow shaded', which is quite frowned upon in pixel art for it gives a bevelled look and generally isn't pleasing to look at.

~The little blob sprite has been 'gradient shaded' which is basically just shaded from light to dark. Basically the same problem you're having with your avatar's sprite.

~I personally prefer your second and third sprite attempts in the 'timeline' than your most recent.

Those are all the crits i could find, sorry if i missed anything or typo'd or whatever. Keep it up.

PS: and just to stop Souly notifying you, there's no need to post zoomed images, as the forum has a zoom feature on it in which you can click an image to zoom (ctrl+click to unzoom).

I like the green blob thing :D
Before Sab ( a PJ member who is the "tool" police) sees this. CG backgrounds and Gradients are not acceptable in pixelart as has been mentioned. Any form of "tool" except for the pencil tool is frowned upon.
