After much thinking about what to do and coming up empty an idea has finally come, w00t. P_O challenged me to make a shmup for his ship collab. Today I started when I thought hmmmm.... why not combine Pixelween and that. Its supposed to be Dracula v. Hannibal Lechter. Lechter is in white cuz its the straight-jacket thing :/ The 'face' is the mask with the 3 metal prongs on it. They are on robot ships in case its not obvious. this is just a prelimenary concept art. I'll detail, add stuff, change it around after some c+c.   Lighting is universal for the UI elements and from the right for the sprites. ------------- |

dracula's teeth need to be more obvious though.
also, the sprongs on the facemask aren't all to obvious either.

yea, Lechter just looks sad now. I wish the canvas size was bigger to get more details in there. The bots still look really big but any smaller and no detail would show. I will go work on this since only one comment means its lame. Or does it mean its perfect  ------------- |

Umm, the facemask on Hannibal Lecter (yep, Lecter ;P ) is very hard to tell what it is. The straightjacket as well. Also, the facemask is green-grey in the movie, so why is it skincoloured here? Robocula is very easy to recognize though, I really like the flowing cape and fangs. I had some trouble recognizing there were people inside the bots, but I have no idea how to make that more obvious. Great job!

Green/grey it is. I was trying to conserve colors. I will try for more obvious Lecter mask. I'm going to make the vampire bot more deathly looking by removing that healthy skin tone. I don't think I can do much but indicate the figures inside the bots :/ @Mirre, I just noticed your entry is vampire v Lecter too... You were first. Do you object to my using them too? ------------- |

All reworked after studying some shmup art. I don't see how much further I can go with this. Unless someone catches an error I will submit it today. Thanks Mirre and Eq I may do another entry with lego people (my original idea). ------------- |

it's better, but unfortunately, it's still not entirely clear that that's Lecter.
no offence (you know i would never ...) but I guess that's mainly due to them being shmups ? (not sure but I take it that is the term for little spacecraft ?)
anywell, as far as them being what they are I think you took it as far as you could.

Shmups = shoot-em-up Offense is never taken. I never make any sprites and fully understand that to be my weakness. This is the reason the characters were made into ship/bots rather than anatomically correct sprites. Dracula is a much more iconic character than Lecter too. The size given is too small for me. Very challenging. Oh well... live and learn. ------------- |

Yes, it's 8-bit inspired but not actual colors. On checking out shmups online and in the gallery it seems its a popluar choice.

hmm not really what i was expecting, but that is not always a bad
thing. I really like the back of the Hannibot: it has lots of detail.
the faceplate, however somes to be lacking something. Dracula would definetly win. Nosferatu, Nosferatu... ------------- I have plenty of emotions; It is Sleep that i lack |
