Strange...Though made of blocks it is overcomed by the shading.

Hello. I think I can see what you're attempting with this. It's quite a small size to use this kind of funky dithering/texturing on. I think you should attempt to shade the form first before applying texture, right now it looks flat, imagine if the texture wasn't there, the shading would be bordering on the oh-so-evil gradient.
I'm not too keen on the cloud. Maybe just round the edges a little bit, maybe try some SelOut with it too. I think the grass could use a tad more contrast.

thanks for the thoughts eyecraft.

the flat look is kinda what i'm going for....not totally falt but i'm not sure how 3d i want the critter to look.  and the cloud i wanted square too, kinda like a square world, but maybe fixing their outline would help a bit.

I can totally see where you're going, I think.
Rule of thumb is the fancier the dithereing/pattern the bigger the piece. I think It's too small to carry it off now. This is tricky however. Too big and the boxiness will look wrong. I call this a true challenge.

ps: Your site is very nice looking, clean and full of stuff. I did not listen to any music but will.
