Forget about the name, I figure it could be counted as advertisements.  No matter what I do, I just don't like the shading on the kid.  I have trouble with colours, so anyone got some ideas for pallettes??

edit:: Also, any other suggestions to improve it would be noice :D

Don't know if this is much of a help, or if it is one at all.
I found that you used way too many colors for a job that would look just the same with fewer, so I took away some, changed colors a bit...

Here's my edit:

The light is coming mainly from behind the character, and that's why it was hard for you to shade it, so i made the majority of the sweater dark, with just a few bright highlights.

& I also made everything kinda purpllllish... cos I like to :)

maybe some AA around the shadow?  looks like you have a grey you could use.

Thats some perfect colours there, and with a little editing, and a new shadow.  I've got this.

Anything more i can do?

whaah! Looks very nice! I love the rocks & ivy. I think you overexaggerated the curves of the dragons' wing membranes though. I would think that a jagged shadow with huge claws & lots of sharp corners would be much more frightening than a smooth shadow as you have done.

Love the background though. But I don't like the fading away in the corners... think it would look better if you just take it off.

OK, thanks guys, I was going for the entrance of a dungeon for that part,  hence the random gradients.  The background tiles are made by Daniel Cook.  And if you are wondering,

I can't be bothered to do anymore, big creds to Ceddo over on Pixeljoint for helping with the colours and shading, and Daniel for his background tiles.

So I'm sorry if you feel mislead, didn't put the names on my previous, my bad.  I was gonna try for  a pixel background, these were just lying around.  I may still try for one though.  But I'm sleepy.

Oh, and there's 2411 colours because the background tiles are hand drawn.

In the future, we'd appreciate it if you gave credit where credit is due when you post the art and let us know that the piece was partially NPA in the topic title. Thanks.
