Hello everyone, I'm very new to all of this, I just stumbled across all this pixel greatness today. I love it all, its great, and Id love to dabble in it myself. I find alot of pixel art and animation really nostalgic and just so cool because it reminds me of playing all those great games on the amiga, and on pcs back in the day.

Well anyway, can anyone give me a few pointers, like how do I make an image transparent (the background etc), also would I be better finding my own method of putting something together? Like using photoshop and windows movie maker or animation shop, or can anyone recommend I use something else?

I've just spent the entire afternoon looking around at peoples work and getting alot of inspiration. It's so great, and there is alot to take in and I like alot of you am busy at the moment, so I'd really appreciate it if some people could just tell me the basics of the whole thing, enough to get me going!

Thanks for your time everyone.
Mark
