CHALLENGE: Food Stamps

CHALLENGE RULES

  • Participants have until this upcoming Sunday at midnight (12AM Pacific) to /pixels/submit_icons.asp'>submit their entry (strict). Don't forget to check the 'Submit to weekly challenge' checkbox.
  • Only new pixels allowed.
  • Open to all members.
  • Posting WIPs in this thread or in new threads in the /forum/forum_topics.asp?FID=8'>WIP section is highly encouraged, but ONLY SUBMIT YOUR FINAL ART.

CHALLENGE JUDGING

  • Every Sunday at midnight (12AM Pacific) the previous week's entries are judged.
  • Every week a new voting poll will be posted for previous week's entries.
  • Winner announced the following week.

CHALLENGE PRIZES/GOODIES

  • Top three finishers will receive an award displayed in your PJ gallery profile for all to see and envy.
  • Top finisher gets to call the following week's challenge...sweet.
  • 'Participation' ribbons will be given for all who enter.
  • No matter what happens you get challenged :)

Just to clear something...
If you, choose to submit to Gas13 your stamp too (and why wouldn't you). That version will not have a price on it. You may however place a stamp price on the challenge and PJ collab version (same one).


This is my stamp which I will not enter in the challenge since I made it a while back and its just been sitting on my hd.

Sure, nice idea. You can interpret "food" in any way. Just so it's easy to see it's "food" related.

Not that you pixel a bolt and add "it's a food for the robots of the future" :)

Also, some of the lines look really harsh compared to others, one color was faily redundant I removed, and I think it could use some old fashioned dither. (see: top-left thing)

Yes, you are right.

Food is any substance, usually composed primarily of carbohydrates, fats, water and/or proteins, that can be eaten or drunk by an animal for nutrition and/or pleasure.

I changed the extra color for a pinkier one to mix with the lights of the fruits.

Nachos... nothing says food like gooey cheese out a can...

trying hard not to use any dithering.  and i know the chips color is a little off, I really want the cheese to stand out.

   - wrong: top left corner

Metaru, don't take it as an offence but why does it look like photo tracing? Why not shape it yourself, it's really easy to shape such a simple form as pepper.

Kfuchoin, I suppose none crits as it's hard to get what is that :)

Setzer, it's awesome, very stylish, finish it please.

Ens, it's dynamic, depends on highest rated stamp. The less Jal's stamp clicked the higher price of every other stamp :) Time to hate Jalonso!

Dra_chan, that's ok. You just managed to ignore all the rules so I decided to make an example, nothing personal, great stamp :)

haha, well gas, i'll take that as a complaint. but no, it's all hand drawn. i've used some photo references for the colors, but that's all. i know why you think that, it's because of that small porion of colors that apeared in the left side of the previuous update. that was just a sample. infact, a chili pepper is easy to draw. the hard part was to pixel my country :P
 
ok, here's the "almost finished" update. still somethings must be fixed, but the overall is almost complete.
shall i submit it, or there's something i forgot?

I was not saying anything about it being handdrawn or not. All I wanted to say is that your reference ruined your artwork. It looks like you were taking colors from the photo and painting with them over it.

I could be wrong but that's exactly how it looks like.

it's the old logo, so in this case it also will be an old stamp (but it would be old id have to search for the price of a stamp in florijnen/guldens... so, it's a neither recent or old tribute stamp to the old logo of chocomel...
