The shading on the body could be a bit better, add some more shadows and maybe a bit of dithering, and make the feet a bit more detailed, thats what i think anyway :D

Long time no update. How's this?

which one you think?

Dunno why I made him an angel. I'm just having problems drawing bat wings. Which makes sense anatomically since bat wings are actually BAT ARMS!! :O

The body is pretty good and the arms are acceptable (some pose and better elbow definition would be nice), but the legs are really lacking. You should bend them at the knees and show where light hits the thighs and how the shins are shaded. The feet strike me as really strange; Google for some reference material there, or check Wikipedia, the only place I imagine might have information about monkey feet. The last thing I have to say is that overall it's really tall, about proportionate to a human. Monkeys are shorter in general and you could take some of the awkward length of the belly out in the process of making him (it?) a bit shorter.

Alrighty monkey. I edited the monkey. I changed the legs from inspiration and help of this groovetastic stock image. - http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/31465885/ :D

I need to fix the shading, I know and the toes are all wonky but I'm still unsure of how to fix the hands. I was thinking maybe in the air, one on each side, palms up. XD kind of a holy pose.

and, yes. I want to make it look semi-human like.

I already said that I was done with the legs as far as posing.

Besides, that pose is a bit frufru. This is an angel monkey, not Nicole Richie.

Okay but... that doesn't look holy. It looks like Paris Hilton.

Thanks for the edits and ideas though. XD

This is definitely improving ^_^
The wings could do with a little more shape; if you're aiming for bird-like wings, the should taper more into a "tip" rather than just be round (best to look up some references, I'm sure I'm describing this badly).  Some feather outlining would be more in keeping with the cartoony style than pure texturing as well, I think.

MashPotato: To be honest I'm not sure what kind of wings I'm aiming for, I was just trying to keep them from looking like a jetpack. But looking at it, I think a tip would be a good idea. I'll look up some bird references. :)

Metaru: Take a look at your edit and that picture. 1. In the picture Jesus is being hanged, which is why his legs are slightly bent, feet pointing down. That's not how you made the monkey look. On your edits, the legs don't look bent at all, they look one foot in front of the other like a catwalk strut. 2. His hands are above his head, while the monkeys looks like he's making Jazz hands to the side. XD Which is fine if that's how you want the monkey, but it's not how I want mine. If you tried to make it look like the photo, it didn't work well. :/

in fact, below the picture says "an idea about the pose". it's just a reference. it's not my idea to do all the job, and you don't want that, don't you?

btw, the jesus picture wasn't my reference. was just a "joke".

Metaru: No, I don't want you to do all the work. I'm perfectly capable of doing it myself. But why bother with an edit if you know your idea isn't very good to begin with.

Hatch: Holy crap, I didn't notice that the shins were too long until now. Thanks. :)

EDIT: I made some edits.

I've still got to fix the legs... something about them doesn't seem right.

mm, I think that I made his legs too short. :/

I don't think his legs are too short. It looks to my untrained eye that the transition from legs to torso is too indistinct. I hope it's not presumptuous of me to try an edit or two:

(Yours)

(Mine)

Again, I'm sorry if I'm being presumptuous. I was just kind of playing around and figured I'd post what I did.
