Well this is my first post on this forum. Looks like a friendly positive environment. 
I just got interested in actually spending time doing pixel art other
than just making them for games because I had to. I have read a few
tutorials and got a better image of what it's all about. Well enough
about that here is a couple sprites I drew up last night. Tell me what
you think, and btw this is my first attempt at drawing actual
characters as opposed to background images. |

Welcome! (Pixel joint does kick ass) Neat little characters, if not a little clicheed. The one on the top looks a little like a fat man, and if its supposed to be that... you've got some skill with the real small detailness. And post some of your backgrounds, I'd love to see them ------------- "I was minding my own business and walking across a pebbled path, and a Duck started giving me the business." |

Thanks for the kind words. And yes the male is supposed to look a
little on the chubby side. Yes I know they are a bit cliché, but that's
the look I wanted to go for. I also put together some walking
animations but I think they need work, or I need to get better at
drawing them before I get into animating them.   I wish I could post the backgrounds that I made but I don't have access to the computer that they are saved on.  |

Welcome to PJ Amion. The hair sway looks a bit like it's being flipped up because it stops abruptly on each side instead of all the hair swaying smoothly. Hmm... I don't know if I'm getting my point across... just think Jan Brady's walk. |

I think I like this style better. Looks like just a few strands of hair are moving instead of the whole thing swinging around.  |

I redid the icons and tried to make them look a little different and a
little less cliche. I also did them in diferent races. From left to
right: Human, Elf, Dwarf, and Ogre.  CnC appreciated! Thanks-Amion |

Nice. I think the jaws (at least of the females) should not have a black outline. Try some darker tone of the skin. |
