Ok, I am working on a site for my photos/pixel art...  I started with the navigation:

That picture of me won't be there when I am done, I am going to be using CSS to drop him in dynamically and to describe links when they are hovered on.  This piece isn't quite done, but please tear it to pieces so I don't make a crappy site

Why should just 2 breeds be broken on the top?

Ok, X'ed that last design, going for a more ISO approach...

Can't decide if I should make the dark areas brick and the red wood, or something along those lines...

Also, how do you all do ISO lines for joing on the inside?  Meaning theses:

Using the dark outline color always looks odd to me...

I think the best way to do the "joining on the inside" is to, instead of doing a line, pick a lightsource and shade different parts differently...

That or use a darker red for that area. ;) When it comes to this kind of stuff for me I just make it up as I go XD.. Your site is gonna look good either way you do it. XD

NO!  I can't make up my mind!

But this is what I am going to use...  And ideas on how to improve it?  I was thinking of doing something on the outer border...  Like maybe dither it outwards or something...

Also need ideas on how to liven that header up a little...

REVISED, SEE BELOW

If you wanna liven it, since I suspect you don't wanna use any other colors, you should put in some white, e.g. some crazy lines.
Good so far though. Might be hard to read at higher resolutions, but looks fine to me.
and for the inside lines, yes, I think you should use a darker red.

Instead of doing it brickwork, you can try making this thing into a console game. But that's just me

I'd liven it up building maybe getting some bevel on that text. Add a layer and put it to about 20 opacity and add some white and opposing black lines to whichever sides you want. Also, personally, the grey doesn't do it for me. It's a drab colour and it doesn't punch it if you know what I mean. Get a nice lighter contrasting colour in there somehow. Also, maybe add some icons to the menu system to add some spunk. Dunno, but I hope this helps :)

the green TOTALLY makes it pop! I don't know why you've put all the images together like this though. It'd be much MUCH easier to combine them together on the site so you wouldn't have to keep redoing the animation. The animation itself could've been with a transparent background so you could mess around with various colours to get what you need.

All in all though, it's looking great dude!

Sorry, I don't dig the green, but that's just me.
IMO it just doesn't go that great with the red. apart from that - great work.

Green was made to go with red.

Green and red are the colors used in my computer case, so it fits in that way too  =)

green and red are kinda complimentary colours, yeah, so they usually go together nicely. though i kinda feel this red to be to dark

allso, the menu is really plain right now, and i dont like the header font. i like the ide of pixelating the letters, but make it more spiffy then just bloating the letters 3x and adding a black edge. (im aware that you kinda shaded it, but its barely noticeable)
