You really don't need to blend the highlights so much. It makes it look like it's disintegrating or something. You also probably should not shade to pure white.

This is a bit harder to put my finger on, but it kind of seems like you've copied the shading faithfully from the ref without having a clear understanding of why it is the way it is. The result is that it looks flat, because you didn't shade it logically, but mechanically. I hope this makes sense.

I see what you mean, but I don't  think it looks flat.

Off topic: I will not be on much - or, at all - untill November, so I can not pixel any more.
