Reinterpretation of Krysis's http://www.pixeljoint.com/pixelart/23008.htm - Phoenix Roach .

The original only appeared to have three legs, which would have been awkward for what I wanted to do, so I made it an even four.

Will probably get scaled down some before pixelling starts.

Any crits at this point would be appreciated. Especially perspective and pose which are probably very iffy.

Hmm, from what I can tell the right hind leg looks dislocated and out of place.
Looks good regardless.

The perspective seems to be fine in most parts... only thing I can nitpick would be it's right hind-leg... that one seems out of perspective.

DOH... posted to slow...

That stuff happens when you put more legs on a Phoenix Roach...

Just kidding. I'm impressed! I'd make the fin (Ok, it's not a fin but..) on the back bigger, but that's just me.

Considerably reposed it, hopefully fixing problems and more dynamic.
Didn't reshade in case there's more reposing to do.

Reposed again.
Again let me know if the pose looks screwy.

I've always wondered what the offspring between an Alien Queen and a Bug from Starship Troopers would look like. Now I know.  Nice job.

Assuming this thing has an @$$ where we'd expect it, it might fall over on it with only one leg supporting the rear quarters. I think your second re-pose would be more stable.

Good point, though maybe not as bad as it seems. It is supposed to be midstride, so momentum would be carrying it forward into balance.

Hows this then?

I was thinking that might be the case, but wasn't sure. That looks like a good blend of stability and stride.

The right leg is bothering me. Roach looks crippled. Its front and back legs are intertwining with one another.  This should correct it, well the front leg atleast:

The fore legs are meant to come inside the rear legs. Otherwise it would have to walk short mincing steps.

Any suggestions to make that more clear?
