Hi there! Just trying to work with a little bit larger canvas nowadays. Lately I'm in a Warhammer craze thus it's supposed to be a female cadian trooper:
But I just can't get the face look feminine. Any help there would be really appreciated.

The cheeks for starters are too male. Male cheeks tend to be squarish, while female tend to be more oval.

Also the lips. Then need to be more slender.

And finally the eyes. Too square (male like).

Here's the result of a http://www.authorsofromance.com/Kresley_Cole_HEADSHOT_JPEG.JPG - quick google search .

I hope you dont mind, but i edited it a little:

I renewed the face, and changed the left hand because it was too big and manly.

I think the "manly touch" it's in her head (yes, head) Change the face, change the hair, maybe the neck.
the pixelli edit helped a lot, but it's still really manly. Soft her hands too. Her legs are manly too, do them more ... thin (i think thats the word) and   try another type of pants.

Good luck

Wow, for a bit there I thought you mispelled Canadian. I was kept thinking to myself, " Aww wait a sec, she doesn't look like a Canadian Mountie, I feel gypped!" Heh, I'm such an idiot.

I googled Cadian, and finally saw it was those futuristic troopers with huge boots and shell armor. Your piece is a good start, but there are some things that need a fixin' before you continue detailing:

-->

I tried to make it look as female as possible. I noticed your trooper's head was quite small, the face seemed kinda' smeared at a weird angle. Also she had a long neck. Other spots to mention would be the long body parts, and her strange pose. I tried my best to keep that pose, but I still don't think it works that well...also, the bandanna seemed to disappear after it went behind her hair...Gave her big ass boots as most google image searches depicted them that way..

And one last thing is for the design of the chest armor: Why were the boobs separated by the chest armor for each breast? If I were a woman, I'd hate to stick each boob in it's correct slot each day before I'd go out to kill me some aliens, or what not. Would feel uncomfortable and awkward, I bet. Even from a males perspective, think of it like this: If you've ever played sports, then you've probably worn a jock strap before. Now imagine if the jock strap had two cups to fit each testicle...wouldn't feel very great, would it?....well, at least that's how I look at it...

hope to see more of this in the near future...near being now...

Thanks for the replies all! Actually the last time I checked there was only greenravens comment so this edit is based on his pointers:
I made some minor changes with the palette, this way it looks a bit more warmer. I hope I'm going in the right direction, I think she looks more feminine though more a like a young boy than a woman. Actually I'd like to draw a girl who looks like she could kick your ass anytime not a sexy lass.

@Delfos: Yeah, my roomate too told me to change the hairstyle. I like it like this but went on to try a quick change and came out like a young Helm rather then a girl:
And cadian uniform pants are like this.

@Da B.O.B.: Funky edit. I based my lines on the artwork in the Codex not on the miniatures. My main inspiration was this:
My viewpoint is a little lower, that's why the smaller head and larger legs. Smaller boots and slim torso for the feminine touch.
I agree with the pose being a bit awkward, I tried to change that before, but failed utterly.
Chest armour design is based on the male armour right now. Actually this is also a how-would-it-look-like test before I start converting a miniature.

Mostly messed with eye and lips - I thought it'd look more feminine with rounded eyes and a better defined brow, but I'm not sure if I was able to keep the expression you wanted.  Also softened cheek, and darkened upper lip.  I did something to the nose, but I forgot what it was..

Hope it helped, this is looking awesome so far! :)

Wow! Thanks Leel! It was a hard temptation not just to copy-paste that face. So here's the recent version (actually a bit rushed - its 1:11 here) based on your suggestions and a try on the B.O.B.  fashion armour:

I'm quite satisfied with the face now. Will continue with the rest of the body after I finally decide whether to keep the pose or not...

You're welcome ^_^  maybe one day you'll show me how to make a manly face.

I think the shadow on the sheek may still be a tad sharp - it makes the cheek look almost swollen.  Try to make it smoother upside-down triangle..  And the highlight on the jaw is too sharp, but just getting rid of the corner pixel will probably fix it.
