Alrighty! Meet Jack! I have made the lineart a long time ago, and just found it today and decided to color it and practice my dithering. Not much more to say but Tear it apart

EDIT:

Finished versions (I hope)

No comments but I still got an update.

Ok what I've done:

Tried making the colors a bit more interesting and added a few as well.
Removed the shading on the face because it looked weird and didn't bring up the shape of the face.
Since this is a cartoon, I didn't have a reference picture, and I want to keep the general shape of him as it is.
When I am done I will remove the black outlines and I'm pretty sure that the lines won't look as "dirty".

I seen him yesterday but refrained from commenting because his facial shape bothers me by the way his face is set on it. >.<' I like the updated hair, less of a 'fake' blonde, and the new pants/shorts colors are better great work ^_^

Yeah the face is only sketched on right now, it will all be colored with shades and stuff. Thanks for the comment.

Well, I think I've done it  :o

Thanks to you guys that helped me through it, I could've gotten the same result without you (no but seriously, I couldn't have)

I've got two versions, one with a darker bg, since I noticed how light it looks on plain white.

I suggest making the face rounder. I know this is a cartoonish sketch idea but the jolt in his face looks a bit.. odd, and ill positioned. Lower it a tad and make it more curved.

Great dithering work, really. But I suggest smore more pallate contrast. That should make dithering all the more fun and serve it's purpose better. Otherwise, the image can come out blurrier.

Can't wait to see where you go with this!

I was actually thinking it was done. And your comment seemed softer than lief's on the other forum. He practically yelled at me for dithering this way. And I think only the hair doesn't have enough contrast. Because I went from way too much contrast to little contrast  Thanks for your comment.

Well, I don't think yelling at anyone does anything to help them. ><

I think if you're going to do a peice with a lot of dithering, it could be very interesting to look at. Not everything has to look the same. The only thing I would suggest is maybe make the light source a little more dramatic to give it some more depth. I mean, by itself, it's not a bad peice at all. I don't have patience for dithering and it's definately a cool looking character.

And yes, I agree. Contrast on the hair would look pretty boss. :)

I'm planning on doing a different kind of dithering that lief showed me on the other forums. It won't be checkboard dithering because he said if he sees one more piece like that he will kick my ass and I will take your suggestion into consideration when I do that. Thanks.
