Hi, me again. I am wondering...do the Pixel Artist here really to expect to get paid on projects? I understand you spend alote of time of your work. And some of the Job Postings here are not that good. But cmon. I think you should give the Job Postees (hehe) a chance on there project. Take a risk and see what there project is about and the creator. Meet new people.

Please revise your grammar and spelling etc.

If we don't give someone a chance when they're posting their project ideas and asking for pixel artists it's usually due to the fact that they've broken the rules somewhat. If they have broken the rules, we have absolutely no reason to give them a chance, since they couldn't even be bothered to read our terms.
Even so, most of the time we will give them a chance to edit their topic.

And yes i would expect to get paid for a paid job, which is why i would only accept jobs from people i think i can trust, those who have the decency to follow the forum rules firsthand.

If you mean just generally giving someone a chance even though they have an uninteresting project that you don't want to participate in just to meet new people, think again. Most of us don't have the time and/or care.

I do enjoy "shooting the core".

I just finished a small 4 sprite job. I'd say if you want some small and quick sprites you may get help but many people expect compensation for their time and effort. The artists love commissioned work. Even if they don't make much money on their work it is like selling a small part of themselves.

Really...so pretty much a new person here is another steping stone for regular users here to step all over and push around.  Why not change the name from Pixel Joint to Pixel Pimp?

What on earth? What's got you in such a state? What we said is that if you want someone to do work for you without pay you're going to have to learn to be patient and/or realise that it may not happen.

Considering general new members, no, of course not. If they follow the rules and contribute well to the community it has been proved that they'll become shining new members of PJ really quite quickly.

What is your problem?  What are you implying about the regulars of this forum?

a new person here is another steping stone for regular users here to step all over and push around

That is not true at all.
Just because an artist doesn't have time, or is uninspired by someone else's project idea, that is NOT the same as pushing someone around, or 'stepping' on them.  I for one don't even go to the job section, so you think that makes me a jerk?

The only 'stepping stones' around here are the bitter little brats who come in without lurking around first to see what we're about, and instantly complain that they're not a freakin throne.

Anyone who come in here looking to improve their art,  to learn something new, anyone who WANTS to enjoy their stay here absolutely will.

You have to remember that the main focus here is the art, not the job opportunities.  So if your job thread is ignored it's because 1. you broke a rule (like Larwick said)  2. it sucks  or 3. it's not a right 'fit' for the artists that are viewing the thread.

Don't go around insulting the artists because they have their own things to work on.   If you don't bother thinking before posting, no one here is going to give you the time of day.

I want a free Xbox 360, how come you're not giving one to me, chicosan21? I bet you must be a pimp because you're not giving me a free Xbox 360.

I went to check your job offering, and you posted it yesterday. Wtf man, do you think all the users here are 24/7 refreshing the page to be able to post one second after the topic is created? And I have no idea how this post is going to help you get someone to work with you. I would think it will do the contrary.

Note how the forum for job postings is called 'Job Offerings'. The artists here are offered jobs but they are not required to do them. Job posters can't expect to receive help; they can only hope. I know it sounds harsh but I do think it's the most realistic way of looking at it. To put it very, very bluntly and at the risk of confirming your belief that the regulars enjoy pushing around new members: we don't owe the job posters anything so we can do whatever the hell we want.

And by doing whatever the hell we want I mean deciding whether or not we want to take on a job.

Good luck with your doomed project.

I do so enjoy seeing people with illusions of grandeur fail at making massive on line games. It tickles my heart it does. These are not games, they are occupying activities for feeble minds attached to poor reflexes.

Beat Gradius arcade version without continuing then we'll talk about what a game should be. Or better yet, you could move your one man offices to Korea and outsource for a bowl of noodles per team. This way when your copy of Game Maker accidentally gets deleted you can rely on programmers with compilers that know their stuff.

For our Pixel Joint friends, he has warned the Game Maker community not to come here. I just wish that it had been more effective. Nothing like 14 year old retards that think that they can program in a drag and drop interface asking for sprites for MMORPGs that they will never finish.

I would not say that there are no hackers on PJ. You may be correct.
