Hey kids... I suck when it comes to non-iso stuff so I'm trying to challenge myself to some dithering and limited palette scenarios. First up is the doll from SplatPixel's lineart. So far, I'm fairly happy with the one leg and I just want to hear from experienced folks how it looks so far and what I should change or do?

Updates will progress

No! Stay in iso! There's already too many people way better than me in non-iso...

All by way of saying you're in no way a bad non-iso pixellist. Just bail on the gleam, and try add some furrish or leatherish texture to the legs and such.

Also, the further back leg would be darker, same with most of the stomach (at least that's how I see it...)

First off, very good lineart by splatpixel, I give him props for that

And nooow.. onto your shading. It's good for the first time dithering (is it your first time dithering?) it looks relatively nice so far, but farely inconsistant also. For example. You softly dithered in some places, while in some other places you used a hard cell shading style. Keep it all one style.  And I think the shine is a little out of place for this particular piece. Usually, cloth doesn't have a shine, it's matte. So all it really needs is shadows. A lot more shadows around the edges should add the depth and 3D-ness you need.

Thanks Ryan. Yeah, it's not finished yet so the inconsistencies are what they are... unfinished areas. It is pretty much my first time dithering. I've just took note of what others have done and tried to reproduce them. The shine will leave in my next update and I will attempt to add some softness to the 'material'

I'll update soon :)
