I have no idea what this is, or why I made it so exagerated. I need help with not only the shading, but also the outline. I know there's tons of things wrong with it, and that tophats should not be at angles, AND that (his) left hand is at an impossible angle. Anyways, crits on the shading are HUGELY appricated! Please don't be afraid to edit if you think it'd help me.

I know about the white background too, I'll change it.

okay, I'm going to bump this up with something that's actually an active WIP. This one is intended to be animated (Minus the pose/heart). Hopefully I actually get off my ass and do it. Help with stuff is great, as always. Help on the previous piece in this thread is great as well.

Oh, and the lines are extremely rough at the moment.

Why not attempt to fix the errors you've pointed out yourself before worrying about shading so much?

:O

But I did fix the lines to the point that I wanted them at. I guess I should fix the leg length a bit, but I was thinking about inputting it in a game that uses the Commander Keen style ground.

I apologise for double posting.

Alright, I've actually gotten off my ass and started making a game! I've made a new character, and animated it running (though rather lazily). My last two characters were just too... strange to animate. I don't know what to say. I could use some help on the running animation, not to mention the lineart/shading.

Running animation done ala Castlevania CotM.

Metaru: I'm emulating the running style of Nathan Graves from Castlevania: Circle of the Moon. Here're some screenshots of it.
