Tilesets are often vast and diverse...not only that, but the best tiles are like those of Secret of Mana or Final Fantasy...although I have not played either of them really, I have seen their screenshots, and I enjoy them.

So, if you'd like to help make a great game, perhaps a lot of us could join tiles together and make a pixeljoint.com overhead (45 degree overhead) game with 16x16 tiles. Feel free to make use of diagnol tiles, sides, ups, the fronts, tiles that connect and curve, etc.

I have already made various tiles so far, and since we are going with a Secret of Mana type styled game, you would do great to go look up on some of those screenshots. I'd prefer not to post them. Anyhow, you may see some of the tiles started so far here (although clearly I was using this tileset solely for testing means and isn't even the final updated version, nor are the colors the best because it's gif saved in ImageForge, but it is what it is):

Any tiles may be modified in this, open to critique.

Here are some examples of the tree styles I had/have in mind...the first tree shows a start to give you an idea on how to make the trees yourself. Start with all dark green then go in and add highlights, which if you zoom in to view them are very simple to add and quite effective I suppose. Keep in mind nothing in nature is totally black supposedly but shadows have purples' and blues' tints to them.

here are some grass tiles...a modification of the tileset above, and I like the colors on this better :-)

To see some beach tiles in action (subject to change, of course, so you may feel free to critque, modify, or choose something else) you may go here: http://www.pixeljoint.com/pixelart/5159.htm - http://www.pixeljoint.com/pixelart/5159.htm

Thank you, I have hope we can create a beautiful game. I have seen some tropical looking work on this site already with some stones, a waterfall, some plants going up that stone cliff, etc. that was absolutely magnificent and truly encompasses the motive to go natural, seen here by some other person apart from myself: http://www.pixeljoint.com/pixelart/4942.htm - http://www.pixeljoint.com/pixelart/4942.htm
