I also found Natalies story very interessting, I had no time back then though. however I started with this one, we'll see if I manage to finish it in time... why? only restriction is you use the same canvas size...which he's doing. The challenge is pixel something "based on Pearl's drawing." Strictly speaking you could draw anything. For example you could draw a dog eating a scarab, if that is "what you see". ------------- |

Hey! I have looked at Pixel Joint for a bit now, waiting for a good time to join, well right now sounds great. I have been doing pixel art for about a year now working on a simple game still only working on paint >.< but anywho, I am getting my idea in it right now, I am surely gonna finish but i wanna get it on so I don't end up copying anyone. Heh, well if thats the effect you want, it shouldn't hurt your feelings. it gives the same result as the spray tool, and that's apparently what you were going for, so I wont say much more. ------------- |

Great Setzer....cant wait to see the finished product...but something about the laser beam seems weird to me. I don't know why. It stands out to much like its floating a little. I wouldn't know how to go about fixing it, maybe not make it as wide or something, it kind of seems like the base of the beam is larger than the source its coming from. And where it makes contact with the ground also seems floaty. Maybe some rubble or smoke at the point of impact would bring what looks like 2 different layers together. But I can see it is far from done, and you may have already had that planned. ------------- |

I'll try making a thinner lazer later, just working on this in bursts for now.  This is my first (WIP) attempt at pixel art... I didn't get much time to work on it but the basic idea was to create a alien warrior.. Also i'd like to know how much can we edit the main picture... from what i see, most of you have heavily edited the main picture So, i think that's allowed..but upto how much extent? |

 might tweak it more, probably will. i tried to avoid pure white as much as possible, not sure if i should go about muddling up the colors with aa even more, i tried to keep them kind of seperate, worked it down to 36. I'm still not sure if it feels as dark as i want though. I also didn't dither, not sure if I should've or not, I've been trying to avoid it for readability lately, and thats probably even more important with how much is going on there. ------------- http://sj-gfx.com">

I'm sorry I had to cancel this work, to much coming up :( This is as far I came, if anyone interessted:  which mean hardly anything... I hoped this would be my restart into the pixel medium, but I guess I have to wait a bit longer with that. Time to turn back to lurker mode. I got way behind, this is th best I got, I am ashamed I barely finished the solid color, I didn't get any shading, details(which are needed all over) But I plan to make a story an octopus she saw in the desert that fell off a truck but I didn't even get to a sky, let alone the truck, desert sand, faded highway, or a cool sun wavy disort thing. And the presective I tried to add just made the octopus look huge and the whole scene unproportional. Idk if I will come back to fix it later, probably not though. http://imageshack.us">  |
