It all looks very blurry.
But welcome to PixelJoint! -throws confetti-
More contrast between the shades might help out with the blurryness, I'm not sure.

You dont have to post it enlarged in any way, we can zoom in on it here
at the forum. I must say you have a very nice start here, really trying
to pack in the detail. Youve got a lot of subtle colour changes in
there which I think you could get away with not having, I dont know.
Depends on your style. I cant really give much advice, sorry

Actually, i'm not sure if you saved it as a .gif or what, but there are 1012 colors used, so technically, this isn't pixel art. You might have saved it as a .gif which will greatly increase the amount of colors in a piece, or you didn't truely make it pixel by pixel. Either way, right now, this isn't true pixel art.

Yeah, actually it is.
Just because someone saves in the wrong format doesn't mean that each pixel wasn't individually placed.
Anyway, yeah, I do see alot of colors in there, like the result of .gif
or .jpg-ing. You can fix this easily, and as for the actual art, it's
pretty good. Detail crammin', eh?
I do agree about the contrast being a bit low at the moment, though.
Anyway, good work, and welcome!

it's a 24bit PNG. i don't really know why that disqualifies it from
being "pixel art", just because it uses a lot of colors. i made it in
GraphicsGale using only the pen, line, and fill tool, and the noise
effect to add the fuzzy texture to the bed.

Well noise is a filter - therefore not pixel art. I suggest doing that "fuzzy texture" youself on the bed. Because using noise is almost the same as being lazy .

i AM lazy :P i'll probably never do another pixel piece after this, i'm just messing around.
the thing i don't get in the fuss about the high color count is that it
doesn't NEED to have a low color count, because i'm not trying to
optimize it for filesize or anything, like if i'd do for a game. it's
about having fun, and i am.

I wasn't the one talking about color count. The color count increased because of the noise but that doesn't matter. The fact that you used a filter matters. Please believe, that we weren't trying to discourage you from anything. I would really love to see this piece pixel artized But if you really don't wanna, that's fine

:) depending on the spare time and patience i'll have, maybe i'll
reduce color count one day (thus eliminating the noise effect).

Again, like Zoomrix said, you can have the fuzzy effect, but in order for it to be pixel art, you have to do it by hand. You can't use any filters.

Aww, don't get discouraged. This is actually really good. :D I mean, good lineart and detail going on.
I think, if this is isometric, you should have a 1 pixel highlight on the edges of everything. :)
