CHALLENGE: Nature: FTW!

From Arachne comes this interesting challenge where you must draw something that has been reclaimed by nature. The idea is to draw some kind of abandoned, man-made structure or vehicle which is turning into a more natural part of the surrounding landscape. For instance, it could be a derelict house with an overgrown garden, or a rusty, sunken boat becoming a coral reef. Also, think of an abandoned city that has been reclaimed by nature over the past century.

mmm, ice-age?

Not sure if I'll submit this, at least I don't think it really meets the challenge's vision.

I'd say it fits, it's a really nice deviation on the challenge, as i suppose nature, in the form of ice, is claiming a man made structure? Took me a while to interprate it though.

I'm going for the less origional Greek/Roman ruins.

Chernobyl might be an interesting thing to do? looking at pictures of how in such a short time nature's all over it.

Can I draw small things instead of buildings? Like, TVs, computers, cars, freezer?

As far as I know, it can be anything man-made.

Correct me if I'm wrong O.o

I really like it, d-p.

I hope Arachne posts his thoughts and comments here.
I understood from her when she sent the challenge in that, yes, its a man-made 'thang' being reclaimed by nature. Whether on land sea or even air, I guess.

just a little WIP. I've got very few time to pixelize.

it's the Angkor Wat temple in Cambodia, or at least what remains of it.

I was also thinking about Chernobyl nowadays: there're some photogalleries of it and they're quite astonishing. I'll post them if anyone is interested in it

Please do, Peach :)

Anyway, here's a little WIP of me:

Sort of an alien ship that crash landed in a remote area. They never found it.

First line was just telling d-p I liked his pixel.

The rest is because I have sent back several entries because they have not been following the 'reclaimed by nature' aspect of the challenge.

Alright, I'll tell you a bit more about what I had in mind with this challenge in hopes of making it a bit clearer.

Man-made structures often have very straight and uniform surfaces, while the natural state of things is more chaotic. For instance, if you take the derelict house example, the paint will peel off and expose the wood, the wooden boards might bend or break with time as they rot. Glass will break, metal rusts, roof tiles might fall off or be covered in moss. Personally, I find that it's more interesting that way than the neatly painted house in the beginning.

It's really about how the things we build are unnatural because they're orderly, and how they'll become more chaotic with time. Most of you have the right idea, and Opacus too. Even if it's not man-made, you still get the same transformation. :)

Maybe not Copy & paste all the floors?
Also, I think it would be more fun to look at if it where to sit at an angle of like 10/20 degrees to the left or right, as if the foundation is starting to give.

Anyway, getting there:

Thanks, flyguy, jalonso, opacus.
Yours looks good, opacus!
Im still thinking about an background.

Miumau0, suggestion: add some more texture on the wood, add some green light background - or maybe a dark forest. Some more contrast would be good.

I merely finished my wip.
but I'm still deciding the global tone of the image :-\ what do u think?

the latest has 1 color less than the previous

just to make it clear: this is the reproduction of a precise place:
http://angkor-net.de/english/Angkor-Ta_Phrom-e.shtml
you can see it in the third photo. I had to find to shots of the same view (top and bottom parts) to get mine. I can't find the originals right now, didn't bookmark the page, anyway I will upload it somewhere asap.
