I'm back again with more graphics for the game I'm working on. Started
working on some enemy sprites! Got 5 enemy designs so far with quite a
few more to follow so here's the first of the batch...
interceptor

cargo ship (blow this up to get a powerup)
:Update 1:

Attack 'Copter
:Update 2:
Another ship done, this is one of the bigger enemies encountered in the game
Hell-raiser
:Update 3:
Yet another ship done! This is the last of the enemies I'm working on for now. Next I plan to do a backdrop
Carrier
:------------:

And here's a mockup just to see it all in context, and cuz mockups are yummy
C&C is very welcomed and encouraged

Looks really good. Are you planning to create a game with them, or do you simply play around with those sprites as a mockup?

Thank you Blueberry_pie and jujuece
Its being developed with ActiveX in Visual Basic, I *think*. Its for PC
(freeware), and the name is still being decided on, for now it is
called "Arkon".
When it's at a more playable stage I'm sure we'll release a demo

Sweet, looks like an ultra-futuristic 1943. I haven't played many games of this type since that game came out.

You could add more things in the background. Like planets or so. The usual white dots are kinda boring.

sprites for a space shooter so this has been a slight insperation :) i

I still haven't played 1943, seen a couple of screenshots, it looks like some awesome eye-candy, in that respect, thank you!

Hmm, nope, I seem to remember hearing Xenon from somewhere though,
maybe I've looked it up in my time. It's flattering to hear you say
mine's better just from one mockup

Yes I agree, I've planned a couple of very massive, very detailed
backdrops that I'll begin working on after I've completed the most
pressing graphics that the programmer is requesting.

yeah I always wanted to make a shmup.. maybe I'll play around in mmf and make my own. it won't be as high quality as this one, though, haha
but you haven't played 1943? man.. that's old school stuff.

Looking good!I hope it has a low resolution like 640X480! That way the art is bit bigger and people can appreciate your color range!

What language are you going to use? DO NOT ANTIOALIAS LIKE THAT FLASH CRAP. It would ruin your effort. People who use flash blur the hell out of bad sprites in hopes that crap on crap makes things look better. Just because you squint and see less doesn't mean ugly images look better. Thanks for giving me white space for a mini rant!

It's using ActiveX in Visual Basic or something like that. No effects
are applied to the graphics besides some possible palette swapping.

Glad you like . I've just about finished animating it opening its hatches and releasing big-arse mines.

Your art looks very professional! The mockup is so pleasent to look at :D But I think the final boss should be at least two screens wide :)

Thank you . Lol actually the level 1 boss
alone is about that big. The final boss is...probably 1 screen size.
It's not the size that matters, it how much of a pain in the arse they
are
