Hey, can it be like when you do that double special move in Marvel vs. Capcom?

i'm sure you want to do a Morrigan/Hulk combo.

13 colors, methinks. I should go and check. Anyway, I had fun doing this one. Traced a few lines for reference, and then pixel'd from there.

It's Rorschach! Rorschach's awesome. Drawing beans is not. Forgive the terrible hand and the terrible terrible beans. Also, any suggestions welcome! Especially about the palette, which I made countless changes to. Thankyou. That is all.

edit: I'd rather not give you the reference pic, because mine pales in comparison with that masterpiece, but here you go anyway ;): http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_PeV5Fgv9e7A/SP1u4kd7sTI/AAAAAAAAEPI/-DQvTdn9MWQ/s400/rorschach01w.jpg - http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_PeV5Fgv9e7A/SP1u4kd7sTI/AAAAAAAAEPI/-DQvTdn9MWQ/s400/rorschach01w.jpg

Should I fix the beans or not?

editedit: If it's not clear, the two faces are Walter Kovacs and Rorschach. Read the comic if you're not sure why they constitute as two different people - specifically the bit where Kovacs is remembering how he became Rorschach.

WIP, highly unoriginal, but I just HAD to do it:

The reference is a piece I did in black ink, a few years ago:

Not sure about the background... flames are not going to cut it if the metal doesn't reflect them.

There is no transparency, but I have a question can I do a animation where the half face slowly fades into a skull.

Current W.I.P.
Any crits? A lot of it is subject to change and the colour count is probably over 16 as I'm still trying to find a nice palette.

I like it, but the beans could look better. As you said. Go ahead!

@bonehead11: as long as you portrait the two faces/sides of a character, it fits into the gallery.

Meh, I'm sure this counts as an okay first effort. Used to show the two "faces" of the mutant-human conflict. I'd happily accept pointers on how to improve.

Hey Connell! Surprised you aren't using the name 'Artist' again hehheh.

I'd possibly recommend doing another step of dithering in some parts. See here: http://kitted.deviantart.com/art/DITHERING-TUTORIAL-Basics-69747353 - http://kitted.deviantart.com/art/DITHERING-TUTORIAL-Basics-69747353 . Doing that 'squares' kinda dithering can add an extra degree of softness, which is always cool.

Anyway, we need more comic themed entries! Hehheh

dithering is not a must in the pixelart process, specially dithering doesnt mean shading. its one of the main mistakes people tends to do at the begining.

i'd rather not dither at all. unless you need a certain texture or you're limited on colors. otherwise is quite pointless to do such thing when you can easily use another shade of colors to do a more suitable trasition of colors(or generate a better palette in the first place, so you can use more eficiently the colors you already have).

I started this one before seeing Connells entry so I hope I don't look like an idea thief.  Anyway, I'm toying with this one as I'm unsure whether I'm going to do it comic book style with minimal, sharp colors and shadows or if I'm going to go with more shading and colors.  Here's what I have now - the dicotomy of Ironman, hero and Tony Stark, flawed human.

EDIT: The eyes not being on the same plane will be addressed ASAP.  Jeez, the things I miss...

True, but I'm a sucker for low colour counts and I think dithering is one of the most fun things about pixel art. Also I think it looks a lot nicer that just using a separate colour.

I have a project for this challenge, I really hope it fits in, as the subject's a bit... "uncharacterly".

if you're going for dithering a specific aesthetic purpose, go ahead. but its completely diferent when people teach or believe that shading an object means a 50x50 dither pattern wich is at must, ugly.

f**k wait it has to be a portrait... WHY do I never read this sh*t?

I saw 100x100, two-faced and went to work.
Does my piece still even qualify if I was to finish it?

What have you honestly never seen or heard of a penis?

Look!  I was just checking.  It was unexpected...lol  What do you think I meant?  It looks so much like a penis, I was just beating around the bush without being rude.  You really got the movement down.

The question is: Where is that going to put it?  Or is it just for show?  LOL

Oh.  I know what the problem is.  It has no balls.  Fix that and we're cool.

EDIT: Seriously,  I like this. Very original.  You're really making a statement here.  It's like fun to look at.  I don't know how you feel so far, but when in doubt, put a penis on it...lol

Hello, first post here.

Maybe my picture is too bordeline to be entered as a challenge entry, but the rules do not mention it has to be left/right side after all ...

What do you think ?
